BTW, I'm loving this topic. Have you guys seen the stats on the poll? It's nearly dead even.
I guess this clarifies it being a tough decision for some.
And, I'm with Radical on the Petrino bringing in TD, Smitty. It's doesn't make any sense. Even if Don Greene were the coach for a year, TD, and Smitty still could have been in the works.
So, the Saints are always past, present, future.
Petrino = past.
If the Falcons were a pair of whittie-tities then Petrino would be the mac truck slamming on it's breaks stain in the back.
Petrino absolutely stained this organization. The Saints? They are just another team in reality.

I chose the Saints, they will always be in our crosshairs. I think we should give Petrino a standing ovation........If he hadn't tuck tail and runned, would we have Thomas, Smitty and Ryan ? Thats how I see it anyway.

One day Petrino will die and burn in hell but the Falcons/Saints rivalry will live on. I have a burning hatred of the Saints that will never even flicker! Even from my grave.

The Saints have been our division rival for 40 years. They've been good, bad and indifferent during that time - but they have always played the Falcons well - regardless of how good either team has been through the years and the games have always been fun. Well said about Petrino. My blood boiled when I saw his face at the Georgia game. For me though, the Saints are more hated in a runaway.

Pestinko. I got flamed on a daily basis on TATF for pointing out when we hired him that he was a dirty coward who literally betrayed every team and coach he ever worked with and he would do it to us. Not only did he do it to us like I said he would he did during his first season right before a national televised game. He humiliated this franchise in a way no one outside of Vick has ever done.
I will hate that man for the rest of my days. I refuse to even call him anything other than Pestinko.
The Saints OTOH have been by and large not only our main rivals but a very respectful rivalry as well. The only time this has changed has been under their asshole of a coach and his attempts to run up scores and let's fact it a ton of extremely favorable calls after Katrina for the Saints.
It is a touch call but the Saints are a long time respected rival whereas Pestinko was an out and out traitor, coward and disgusting human being directly towards US.

Saints. If petrino didn't quit we wouldn't have Ryan Td and smitty. We have brohm mckay and petrino. Plus a bunch of crap at other positions (petrino screwed a lot of stuff up) but the one thing he did good was that he helped Roddy tap into his potential and breakout. If petrino quit and didn't get Roddy on track Ryan wouldn't have had a #1 as a rookie.
As much as I hate petrino, nothing but good happened after he punked out.

You have the Saints because they're a rival organization, and they've been the hot stuff for a while. Petrino is actually a BAD person. You and I would probably care less about the Saints if they were in the AFC North.

I remember that. True story. I'm sorry if I ever defended him to you, but I couldn't imagine a guy coming from the college ranks to one of the sweetest gigs in the NFL, just totally end up being a punk-ass beeyotch. Shows the true measure of a man w/him. And what gets me is, he keeps on showing it. That whole thing at his presser where he ended up causing that poor girl to get fired.... just smh. What a punk.
