Did We Sign RB Gartrell Johnson? - Sporkdevil - 09-21-2010 04:50 PM The Falcoholic said we did, but I haven't seen it elsewhere. Nevermind, I just remembered how Google works. Per WSB NFL Source: Falcons RB Jerious Norwood Out For Season Posted: 4:09 pm EDT September 21, 2010 Updated: 4:15 pm EDT September 21, 2010 ATLANTA -- An NFL source told Channel 2 sports director Zach Klein that Falcons running back Jerious Norwood tore the ACL in his right knee and will be lost for the season. Norwood, who was injured on the first play of Sunday’s game against Arizona, was entering his fifth full season with the Falcons. Norwood has battled injures over the last 18 months and appeared in 10 games in 2009. With Norwood heading to the IR, the Falcons will sign running back Gartrell Johnson from Colorado State, Klein confirmed. Gartrell Johnson 5'11, 222 | Colorado State | Running back Strengths: A powerfully built, one-cut running back, Johnson really came on during his senior season. Quick feet and has good agility. Great vision. Has a body that allows him to shake off tacklers. Runs with a good, wide base. Gets terrific body lean and could be good in short yardage plays. Weaknesses: Does not have great speed. Doesn't have a great initial burst at the line of scrimmage, which can make it hard for him to quickly scoot through a hole. Not the best receiver out of the backfield. Needs to improve his hands and route running. Final word: Johnson has an NFL-sized frame, but questions about his speed and quickness hitting the hole greatly limit his upside. A powerful running back, Johnson can break tackles and run over opponents. If it was 2007, I would be all about it. Sadly, 2010 Marshawn Lynch is terrible. (wanna say he had near 200 yards rushing) Hes got great ball skills and hits the hole but he got caught from behind a few times so his top speed porbally isn't that great. EDIT. It was the New Mexico Bowl and he had like 285 on the ground WOW. EDIT: Also had 90 yards receving. I know it was agaisnt the likes of Fresno State but those are video game numbers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_New_Mexico_Bowl RB Shawnbrey McNeal Signed - Sporkdevil - 09-21-2010 04:57 PM Who?
