JaQuizz Rodgers...More than we think he is??? - Knight of God - 06-07-2011 12:25 AM

I was lobbying hard for another RB to sit behind Quizz and Turner, but I'm starting to believe that Quizz may just be the guy to open this offense up and make more chances for monster plays.

I can actually see Turner starting, but getting less snaps in the 2nd and 3rd and bringing in Snelling and Quizz more. Then bringing Turner back in the fourth...fully rested and jakked up.

The closer we have all wanted.

sounds like a sweet plan. the only thing in my opinion is sometimes it seems it takes MT33 a while to 'get started'. i love the idea of the turner we all saw drag a few players for yards and yards being strong in the fourth quarter

at this point i think turner just for some reason lost that Bowling-ball mentality. Just seems like he doesn't want to run into people. Quizz on the other hand may very well be our answer to solving most of the issues at hand. A RB that can catch, doesn't lose the ball often (solid hands), and can either elude or pound the ball up the middle. Kind of a whole package deal.

BUT the thing is maybe we've hyped the kid up just a little too much, since we have yet to see him do work in the NFL.

Just thoughts on the topic. I'd like to see turner really rested because of the lockout and come back to being the 1700 yard runner we saw his first year with us, but thats fantasy at this point.

Jay, I don't want to see Turner with 1700 yards when we just sold our soul to get Jones.

Well maybe i should reword/rephrase my sentencing. I'm wanting to see the 1700 yard runner in Turner we got instead of the injured and timid turner we've come to see recently. When we had the true burner running and bruising DB's and Linebackers it really did open the offense up more.

Yea I would love to see two 1000 yard receivers but I'd rather see Turner get back to form and control the ground game and force Defenses to think on Play-action plays whether we're running or passing. PLUS determining whether we're going to Roddy or JJ.

Im convinced Rodgers is the second coming of Dunn

What's wrong with a 1700 yard RB and two WRs with 1000+ yards?

Nothing. That's what.

No. Please no. Dunn would not work as well in a power blocking run game...

I believe that with the addition of Julio and JaQuizz, the front office and coaching staff have shown that they have enough confidence in Matt (by getting him more weapons) to make this a pass first team. All QB's go through their first few years in either run heavy or balanced attacks, and when they are ready they are given the keys to the offense. I think thats what we will see this year.

I think that means that JaQuizz will be on the field quite a bit because of this. He is a small, shifty back that I see Matt getting the ball to often. It should be a lot of fun to watch.
