I'm pretty sure the Coaching Staff told him not to talk about the injury... They did the same thing when all of our guys have an injury... Patriots type stuff... It used to bother me but now it doesnt (i cant make them change) ... As long as they get our guys ready to go. As long as Julio doctor OK's him... I wouldnt have a problem with him practicing the team... I dont want him rushing it tho. RE: Julio Jones not running at workouts - Beef - 05-11-2011 12:09 PM This is nothing. I had a stress fracture identical to Crabtree's and Julio's and the surgery took all of 20 minutes. I was able to still workout my legs in the gym the next day and even do an elliptical machine without any pain. And I took off the boot after 2 weeks and could run on it full speed after about 8 weeks. But continueing to workout during that time period I never lost a step. And these guys are bigtime athletes. Julio will be totally fine. My story is pretty funny. I have hardwood floors in my house and a dog. We had been gone for about 8 hours, much longer than expected, and my dog apparently couldn't hold it anymore. When I came in the house, my dog was about 25 feet away starting to take a shit on the floor. Well I bolted towards him to grab him and let him out real quick but apparently he had already pissed on the hardwoods which I didn't see. Well as you surely already guessed, I slipped on the piss and busted my ass bigtime. My little toe on my right foot slammed into the coffee table. I didn't know it was fractured though I just thought it was brused. It hurt like a mofo for about a day then just went to a constant dull ache for like a month before I said fuckit this thing ain't healing and I got it checked out. Doc said it was a Jones fracture and they fixed it with a cortical screw. It wasn't a big deal at all and I have zero issues with it anymore. Was fully recovered after 8 weeks and I had the worse one of these you can have. RE: Julio Jones not running at workouts - illmusic - 05-11-2011 12:59 PM I never understood why people would get so mad about the front office not giving out the healing schedules of players...would knowing who's healthy and not healthy really change anything? They don't lead people on and they don't overestimate the time length...what's the problem? And honestly, I probably wouldn't advise Julio to be doing any drills against defensive resistance until his contract is done. Just let him and Ryan get a feel for each other as best they can. If this lockout shit hangs on longer than it needs, then start having physical practices together. RE: Julio Jones not running at workouts - Dale4Saul2Red0 - 05-11-2011 07:40 PM Front office doesn't hide injuries, they just understand that everyone outside of the organization doesn't have a right to know anything going on with one of their injured employees. Demanding anything else is silly. Also no reason for Jones to push himself too hard in May. Look at the guy, he obviously keeps himself in prime physical condition. I'd be more worried if he wasn't running by say July. RE: Julio Jones not running at workouts - TeamPlayer1 - 05-11-2011 08:52 PM Thanks for the good news Swift! I'm glad JJ isn't running this soon after surgery. He doesn't have a contract and the meter isn't running so he is doing the smart thing. RE: Julio Jones not running at workouts - Sporkdevil - 05-11-2011 09:24 PM Good to hear he is out there. Saw a report earlier that Greg Little did not attend the Browns workouts. |
