About Last Night - karst41 - 04-29-2011 03:51 PM

I do not give a Ratz Azz about what TD says.

Two things happened last night that IMO has now
become the beginning of the end of TD's Tenure in Atlanta as GM.

Has there ever been any one player who was worth 5 Draft picks ?
Two 1st , One Second and Two 4th.

Julio Jones better be Insanely Good or By Gawd this trade will
equal that of Mike Ditka trading away an entire Draft for Ricky Williams,
and how did that work out.

Secondly, with the loss of so many picks, in one moment our team just went
from one that builds through the draft to one that is held together through Free Agents.

That my friends means that we will start having locker room issues starting early as this
year, and definitely by 2012.

I have been watching the NFL for 49 years now and History just repeated itself last night.

Defense lost us both of our playoff games not the offense.

Julio may be good, but I guarantee you that One Man is never better than 5.

i'm not understanding how people say we gave two first round picks. we had a first round pick, we got a first round pick, that cancels itself out. so we gave this years 2 and 4 rounds, and next years 1 and 4. that's four players for one, yes. if you look at the value of pick number six, and add the total values of our picks, from that perspective we didn't over pay all that bad.

but we had a first round pick already, we got a first round pick, you can't count that against itself. I'm not happy that we gave next years first, but other than that one small fact, considering what's left in this draft, no we didn't do so badly

Does everyone feel the need to start their own personal thread about this or something? You can lump like 30 of these together.

And why do idiots keep comparing this to Mike Ditka and Ricky Williams? Please tell me any similarities in those football teams before the draft. Saints were coming off back to back 6-10 seasons. They were not a good team by any means, THEY NEEDED THE FUCKING PICKS! Atlanta is coming off of 2 winning seasons and are not in rebuilding mode like the Saints were! WE DON'T NEED THE FUCKING PICKS! How can a person with any shred of common sense compare this to Ditka and Ricky, HOW?!?! It's baffling!

Yeah, Ditka gave up much more. Remember, Ditka gave up the 12th overall pick, plus a high 1st round pick the next year, plus 2 3rds, plus all picks in round 4 - 7. We gave up one of the last picks in the first round, a likely late first round pick next year, plus late picks in the 2 and 4 this year, and late 4 next year. The value of the trade isn't close, and the position of each franchise at the time is equally far apart.

I get why comparisons are made, but they are disingenuous.

I'd be nice if you were able to type a legible message without random capitalization. That being said, dumb post.

One player has never been equal to five? You're saying you would have Spoon, Meier, Owens, Middleton and Sidbury over a guy like Calvin Johnson? The picks are comparable. Anyways, the D is going to be addressed in FA. If you don't recall, we were actually pretty good on D. A DE later, we're going to be above average, maybe better.

Like I said, dumb thread.

Polite way to call someone a drama queen. I use it in motions all the time to call the other attorney a fraud.

Looky here,

You can call my post dumb and insipid or what the fuck ever.

I am telling you that trades like these have disaster written all over it.

And also while you are all at it.
How about my comment on our playoff losses?

No matter how much fire power you have on Offense, your Offense
aint worth a bent nickle if it is resting on the sidelines.

Julio Jones Aint going to change that so go feltch a billy goat. All of Ya!

I am PISSED OFF and ready to WAR so roll up yer sleaves and lets have a go.

Bitches!

Am I supposed to even take this seriously?

Also, the turning point in the playoff game was a pick 6 by GB when Ryan forced a pass to Roddy. Just sayin'.
