Very polarizing draft pick - The Falcon Jedi - 04-29-2011 09:24 AM This was a very controversial move by Dimitroff and the Falcons and people either Love it or Hate it - not much in between. After sleeping on it Ive come to the conclusion that I am in the middle. I dont love it, nor do I hate it. I am however curious to see how it turns out. I can see Dimitroff's logic - basically mirroring my opinion that there really isnt much to choose from in this draft - so we went and got one of the handful of players that are actually worth a shit. It was a very bold move, uncharacteristic of this regime, and I kind of like that. Maybe we needed to make a bold, uncharacteristic move to infuse some energy into the program. I dont like how much we had to give away to make this happen, and I really hope Jones can become more dependable with his hands, but sometimes you have to risk everything to win everything. Im Ok with it, for now. RE: Very polarizing draft pick - Swift Is a Die Hard - 04-29-2011 09:31 AM there really are only 2 schools of thought here and 2 camps CAMP A :there are people who love the bold move for the explosive wr CAMP B: there are people who hate the move cause they believe they gave up wayyyyyyyyyyyy to much for a unproven player I dont think Ive heard anyone say JONES WILL BE A BUST ...I dont think thats the case , he might never turn out to be the star we thought we were trading for but I dont see a complete and utter bust that we will regret for next 5 years making this move It was just a complete and unnecessary and even a panic move RE: Very polarizing draft pick - Beef - 04-29-2011 09:58 AM OPINIONS are like assholes, everyone's got one, yours just stinks like a shart in old ratty whity-tighties. RE: Very polarizing draft pick - mdrake34 - 04-29-2011 10:10 AM Jedi you said repeatedly that this draft class sucks, asked if we can just skip the entire draft, etc . . . well, we made a bold move and got a guy that arguably will have a much bigger impact on our team than anyone at 27 or in the second round. Of all the million sperm cells, i cant believe you were the one that won RE: Very polarizing draft pick - Swift Is a Die Hard - 04-29-2011 10:12 AM (04-29-2011 10:11 AM)The Falcon Jedi Wrote: Of all the million sperm cells, i cant believe you were the one that won lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo RE: Very polarizing draft pick - Gritz - 04-29-2011 10:14 AM I like it because we are the ones who did it. I find it funny that some of the same people who have bitched and moaned about Dimitroff's steady, almost predictable, piece-by-piece manner of building the Falcons the past 3 years are now crying over this uncharacteristic (for our FO) move. It's almost like Dimitroff humped their wife or something. The guy can't win. ![]()

I was starting to become a somewhat outspoken critic of TD's drafting strategy, and he proved me majorly wrong. I dig it. Your OP was actually reasonable & consistent with what you've been saying... "This draft sux, I don't care". Well, they apparently agreed that the best move was to go get a sure thing rather than meander in the mediocre. |
