This is the BIG week - insanefalconfan - 09-20-2010 02:13 PM This week we are going to New Orleans to play the Aints. I believe and I bet most people here will agree that we will be facing the Zebras as well so I am seeing Career game by Ryan/White/Decoud/Bierman in a big win for us to ride and go on a big winning streak.........But that is my Opinion anyone agree? RE: This is the BIG week - Peyton - 09-20-2010 02:17 PM I don't think that winning this game is critical for the Falcons, but I do think that it is critical for their psyche that they compete. It's a real advantage for the Falcons to get this game with New Orleans coming of a Monday Night Game on the west coast. It doesn't really get much more favorable than that. Let's hope the birds can capitalize. That is probably the biggest of a ton of schedling breaks we have this year. I will hunt down a thread I posted on that topic from the OMB. ... because I know everyone is dissapointed to have missed it. I pretty much agree with all of this. Not critical to win but critical to compete at a high level. RE: This is the BIG week - Knight of God - 09-20-2010 02:31 PM When has beating a division rival stopped being critical to win? RE: This is the BIG week - Peyton - 09-20-2010 02:34 PM (09-20-2010 02:31 PM)Knight of God Wrote: When has beating a division rival stopped being critical to win? Well when I use the word "critical", I mean it's extremely damaging to playoff chances to lose a game. I don't think that is true of this game. But for the sake of winning the division, yeah, it probably qualifies as critical. I feel like....with the way the schedule sets up, the Falcons or the Saints are going to be a Wild Card, unless one of them completely drops the ball. It's very important that we win this game and every division rival match up! RE: This is the BIG week - poutlipper - 09-20-2010 06:02 PM Along the lines of what Peyton said, winning this game would be huge for us. Going up 2-1 and having the Saints 2-1 or 1-2(depending on what happens tonight) would be a huge statement by this team to the Saints as well as the rest f the division. HOWEVER, not losing this game would not be the end of the world IF we compete. If we get drummed 27-7 on Sunday, that's not good at all. If we lose 27-21; having made a game of it. That says a lot about our team going on the road and taking the Super Bowl Champions down to the wire. RE: This is the BIG week - NZFalcon - 09-20-2010 06:05 PM Man Im amping for this game already RE: This is the BIG week - Radical - 09-20-2010 06:24 PM It would be huge if we win this game, but I have no reasons to believe that the season will be near going down the drain if we lose this one. |
