RE: I WANT THIS GUY! (Our 2nd round pick) - g-dawg - 02-14-2011 06:13 PM don't want any RB in 2nd round - looks good though - knock on Murray is the injuries RE: I WANT THIS GUY! (Our 2nd round pick) - markdzul - 02-14-2011 06:19 PM true, he had that bad injuy his junior year that kept him out... Very interested to see how he holds up in the NFL. RE: I WANT THIS GUY! Now you will hear from some that most of his injuries have been freak accidents rather than the result of the arduous duties that come hand and hand with the RB position and therefore have lessend effect on key joints. Personally to me, an injury is an injury and he's had his share. Still you don't break the touchdown record at OU by being a slouch. Still he played longer than most famous OU backs, so take that for what it's worth too. All and all I'd love to have him, but his breakway speed isn't as impressive as Norwood's, but to be fair few backs have as impressive breakaway speed. RE: I WANT THIS GUY! (Our 2nd round pick) - USAF HART - 02-14-2011 06:30 PM How could you not want him in the second? He has everything we want in a runningback. He can catch, he can run, he's got speed, he breaks tackle at an alarming rate. He is everything we wanted Norwood to be. RE: I WANT THIS GUY! RE: I WANT THIS GUY! (Our 2nd round pick) - markdzul - 02-14-2011 06:36 PM Have to wait until the combine, if he does not grade out until the third round or later we have to wait. Norwood was a third round pick.... RE: I WANT THIS GUY! (Our 2nd round pick) - USAF HART - 02-14-2011 07:07 PM I hate the "injury prone" argument. it takes one shot to ANY player and their career could be over. I'm not wishing it on anyone, but one helmet to helmet shot could produce a severe concussion, etc. Coaches can't shy away from players because they are "injury prone." What exactly constitutes being injury prone anyways? From everything that I have read, Murray has suffered a torn Hamstring tendon back in 2008 that required surgery(no Hamstring injuries since), and then a dislocated knee cap that kept him out for just 3 games in 2009. 2010 he took a helmet to the knee in the 4th quarter against Oklahoma State, but played the next week against Nebraska. Everyone wants the little guys in the draft like Derrick Locke and Noel Devine, but here we have a man who is 6 ft and 207 pounds with speed, hands and who runs great routes. With Murray, you at least know that he can somewhat carry the load in a traditional offense. If we were able to pull off the trade with San Diego and get their two 2nd round selections, I would go: Best WR, Demarco Murray, Kyle Rudolph. RE: I WANT THIS GUY! (Our 2nd round pick) - mdrake34 - 02-14-2011 07:33 PM Murray is the truth. We need speed out of the backfield to compliment Michael "Tiptoeing through the rose garden" Turner and to give Ryan a legitimate check down option. |
