The Titans are expected to select Mike Munchak as their new head coach - Falconmama - 02-07-2011 11:38 AM ARLINGTON, Texas — The Titans are expected to select Mike Munchak as their new head coach early this week, possibly as early as today. After interviewing four candidates for the job last week, Titans Executive Vice President Steve Underwood and General Manager Mike Reinfeldt spent the weekend discussing the candidates. All indications still point to Munchak replacing Coach Jeff Fisher, who coached the team the past 16 full seasons before the two sides opted to go separate ways last month. Fisher went 142-120 with the Titans, but the team hasn't won a playoff game since the 2003 season. Munchak recently finished his 14th year as the Titans offensive line coach. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001 after playing in 159 games for the Oilers over 12 seasons. In addition to Munchak, the Titans interviewed offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger, Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey and Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell. The team also requested permission to interview Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, a former Titans assistant, but he declined. 0 RE: The Titans are expected to select Mike Munchak as their new head coach - g-dawg - 02-07-2011 11:50 AM oh well.....

RE: The Titans are expected to select Mike Munchak as their new head coach - The Don™ - 02-07-2011 03:12 PM Whatever. As long as we see the "explosion" from Mularkey and this offense that TD and Smith have been talking about, I could care less.... Who knows...TD and Smith could have gotten together with Mularkey and discussed that the scheme may need some tweaking to add that explosion factor....We will just find out, and I hope for the best for the offense and team going forward.... I believe.... As long as we see the "explosion" from Mularkey and this offense that TD and Smith have been talking about, I could care less.... We can hope...but we all know its not going to happen we have the ULTIMATE trifecta working against us ..we win were successful in regular season but we will never see explosion 1)Ryan...more game manager ..not the type to throw into tight spots and go deep and stretch field doesnt have arm to consistently do it 2)Mularkey scheme.......not meant for big explosive plays to poor route run designs to heavy run formation 3)TD lack of finding talent and explosive players that can fit offense side of ball We will keep winning and be smart /protect football but WE WILL NOT BE EXPLOSIVE |
