Are you not a Falcons fan?

13-3 #1 seed out in the first half of the playoff game.

It's par for the course to expect the worst.

And yes our Defense did not carry this team anywhere over the past few years. Yes there were some big plays especially this past year, but the Falcons were in all 13 wins because of the offense.

LMAO. What games were you watching? The offense was horrible when the season started, and sprinkled with inconsistency the rest of the season. We had a lot of luck this year, the ball always bounced our way. That's why I wasn't surprised at all the way our team crumbled in the playoffs. It was bound to happen sooner or later and it did. Our offense (rankings be damned) is NOT great. Its average at best. Our offense wasn't winning all of our games. LMAO

Been one since 1966 and have lived through enough disappointments and shattered hopes to know that this time is different. 13-3, #1 seed, and more importantly what has happenned over the last 3 years has me feeling positive overall, not negative. After one bad playoff game I don't feel the need to panic. Have faith, unlike the past we are in good hands now.

It's kinda funny, I never thought I would get the opportunity to tell Jesus to have faith Big Grin

Horrible when the season started? Against the all-world Steelers defense on the road... it sure as hell wasn't against the Cardinals or Saints.

Our offense is above average for sure. No way to argue around it.

You stick to managing the site. I'm banning you from talking about our coordinators.

The more I think about it, if Mularkey goes I really want us to get Ralph Friedgen. His record as an offensive coordinator is very good. National championship in college and a Super Bowl appearance with the Chargers. Anyone that can take a team to a Super Bowl with Stan Humphries as the QB knows what the hell he's doing. And at Ga. Tech he made George Godsey into a good QB when everyone thought he was not going to be very good. He also ran a balanced attack which would fit right in with Smitty's philosophy.

I don't really care about his head coaching record as that's not what we would be asking him to do, but he has a good track record running an offense with a good head coach behind him (Bobby Ross).

I'm just worried about finding a competent replacement. We would have a great number of things, otherwise though: stable coaching, quality drafting, great set of players, winning team coming off a 13-3 year, and an owner who is willing to come up with dough when needed. This is something we did not have 3 years ago, and we may be able to better get a quality coordinator.

We would also have the option to interview just about anyone, so if anything we can get a shot at some good people. I'm just not sure who is out there, at this point, especially this late in the game. I feel like Musgrave and McDaniels were or should have been our top replacements, and they are now gone. We also haven't been quick at replacing Musgrave... so I don't know if this means we are having trouble getting someone, or what...

RE: Mularkey to Interview for the Titans HC Job - juraitwaluzka - 02-05-2011 12:10 AM

I would rather have Mularkey as OC than Musgrave, honestly I'm glad he's gone just so that there is no chance he ends up our OC. His track record as OC is not very good. Of course he could end up being great, who knows, it's just that there's no evidence to suggest that would be the case. In his only OC job, in the 2 years in Jacksonville his offense was 25th and 29th in scoring. In the 3 years after he left, Jacksonville's offense was 12th, 9th, and 6th with someone else calling the shots.

Even if Mularkey stays, I'm anxious to see how Ryan progresses with someone else as his QB coach. I guess I'm just not buying in to the Musgrave love.
