Good point. Playing Devil's Advocate, he would leave because his stock is going down. Have a bad(or equal to this past) year and get fired, and he can kiss his HC chances goodbye for quite awhile. MM is underachieving. On the other hand, Williams is overachieving in NO. His job is safe. Keep doing what he's doing with the talent level of that defense and he will continue to be a HC candidate.
Anyone agree?

Why do we so badly want to change the offense that has gotten us 3 straight winning seasons?
I doubt Smitty wants to make that change.

I'm sure our defense and our offensive personnel had nothing to do with it, and without Mularkey, we would never have had 3 straight winning seasons otherwise.
Foolishness. Too much talent on offense right now for any OC to mess it up that bad.

you might think but a new system could set us back a few years.
And yes our Defense did not carry this team anywhere over the past few years. Yes there were some big plays especially this past year, but the Falcons were in all 13 wins because of the offense.

I highly doubt that. They learned a new system in 2008 and went 11-5 with less talent and experience than they have right now.

No way Brian Billick quits the sweet gig he has now to come back to the NFL as a "coordinator". That guy would need to have his head examined if he did that, brother-in-law to Smith, or not.

If you don't know then why assume the worst? I think all signs over the last three seasons show they can handle change just fine.
