Mularkey to Interview for the Titans HC Job - Sporkdevil - 02-02-2011 01:58 PM

Just came across ESPN. Just great. Musgrave gone, McDaniels hired, and I slammed my hand in the car door. Repeatedly.

The garbage report:

"Sources: Titans target Mike Mularkey

ESPN.com news services
The Tennessee Titans have been given permission to interview Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey for their coaching position, sources have told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.

The Titans are seeking a replacement for Jeff Fisher, who parted with the team last week. Tennessee already has spoken with a pair of in-house candidates, offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger and offensive line coach Mike Munchak.

Mularkey interviewed for the Cleveland Browns' coaching vacancy earlier this year. He coached the Buffalo Bills in 2004-05, going 14-18 over two seasons.

Mularkey previously was an offensive coordinator in Pittsburgh under former Steelers coach Bill Cowher.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report."

Then we could grab Clements from Green Bay as OC, maybe Zorn as QB coach, and install a dynamic WCO. I'd be down with that.

Actually, that might make me feel better. Clements is very well regarded, and I do like Zorn, but only as a QB coach at this point. At least we could get the chance to poach off the Superbowl teams.

Who is the Packers OC? Because I believe McCarthy actually calls the plays, and he may want to move up.

Did Billick ever have a top 10, or even top half offense his entire time in Baltimore? I'd pass on him, honestly.
