A question for the Ryan hater's - jddurden - 01-18-2011 04:39 PM

I posted this on the other site, but since this one I actually listen too I thought I would post here also:

Ryan played like crap the other day there's no way to deny it. But if he is an incomplete QB, why has he tied Dan Marino's record for most wins in his first three seasons? Over the last three days I have seen an abundance of topics about what's wrong with the Falcon's. I've seen that we need new a new OC and DC. That it's Mike Smith's fault. Our secondary is horrible and our linebackers are trash. We have no pass rush and hardly any playmakers on offense other than White and Gonzo. Tuner is washed up and we need a new back. Yet he won 33 games in his first three seasons. No one else has done it. Tom Brady came in with a decent team and didn't do it. Roethlesberger had an amazing defense and didn't do it. You can use strength of schedule as a scapegoat, but over three years he has had to play most divisions in the NFC. He has only played two playoff games. The Qb that torched us is on his fourth (this sunday), he was o-1 until this year. You can b*$&@ and moan about his lack of arm strength all you want, but he is a winner.

I don't think we really have Ryan haters on this site. Some might want to pigeon hole Swift that way but I don't think that is true.

I love Matt Ryan, but he has some mechanical issues to work on this post season, and I have no doubt that he will.

No. You called him a weak armed, game managing, Chad Pennington clone.

Then you backed off it after the Ravens game.

Now you're back on it. Weak sauce.

I believe that Ryan will be a top 5 QB in the near future. The man had 28tds and would of had even more and over 4000 yards if it wasn't for MM's conservative philosophy. Ryan will eventually have post season success. Cutler, Flacco, and Sanchez all have top defenses that comes through for them whenever they make mistakes, Ryan doesn't have that. If we had a real good defense I can guarantee that we would have beaten GB even with the two picks Ryan thew and people wouldn't be bashing Ryan as much.

Chad Pennington was a good football player. He has the highest completion percentage in NFL history and he is 12th all time in passer rating.

There are worst insults you could hurl at somebody.

some of our fans think me calling Matt Ryan a game manager is a insult lolllllllllHuh

Eli Manning won a super bowl being a game manager

Big Ben won a super bowl as a game manager

Now both of those QBS have grown out of that role and can show on a CONSISTENT BASIS not just one game they can carry a team on there backs also both those QBS won a Super Bowl with a great defenses and Im afriad we are nowhere close to being considered great defense

RE: A question for the Ryan hater's - DawnOfThemBirds - 01-18-2011 05:11 PM

To be honest every Qb is a game manager. They have the ball in their hands almost every play and their job is to make decisions that dictate the outcome of games.

Yet you backed off that stance when Ryan took over the Ravens game.

Now you're back on it.

Show you're being disingenuous.

I thought Ryan took the next step in the process. Now I think that was wrong . Ryan is a game manager that cant throw or rally a team when they are down by 14 or more or a running game is stopped or when not everything goes his way . It will take more then 1 game for me to believe Ryan turned the corner from game manager to complete NFL QB

Complete NFL QBS

Brady
Manning's
Brees
Rivers
Rodgers
Big Ben
Vick..........just this season next year he will go back to being inconsistent

QBS that are cusp of being complete NFL QBS

Sanchez
Flacco
Ryan
Cutler
Freeman
Schaub........has 0 playoff wins so while his stats are nice he doesnt have other intangibles
Palmer.........he has 0 playoff wins
