Well I guess there are more than two things actually.

All of the teams on the list were defending Super Bowl Champions, and all of them made the playoffs. Only the 1996 Cowboys and 2005 Patriots won their divisions, but both had to play in the WC round.

Collectively, the list compiles every defending Super Bowl Champion that either made the playoffs as a wild card or had to play in the WC round.

Now....can someone tell me the other thing they all have in common?

The other thing they all have in common is that none of them reached the Super Bowl.

So no team in the Saints position has ever made it to the Super Bowl, much less won it.

Just a thread I started to make Falcons fans feel warm and fuzzy.

Didn't they all lose their first game?

If I remember correctly, no team that has traveled more than 2000 miles to the Seahawks stadium has come back and won.

Up until last year no team named the saints had ever appeared in the super bowl let alone won one.
