I know there is a lot of blame to go around, but I think Dodge is gone after this. This is just one of those Leon Lett, Jim Marshall, Scottie Norwood type goofs that will follow him forever. Hopefully he can deal with this and still have a good career. After this the fans want to see a fall guy, and I think the punter is it.

I don't think it was anywhere near Leon Lett buffoonery, that was just plain dumb (I'm thinking of the superbowl play where Bebe punched the ball out of his hand ruining his premature celebration).

This was more of an execution issue, not a showboating issue. I mean, sure he botched the assignment on the punt, but there were still 10 other guys that could've made a play but didn't.

It's too bad for him though, because that game was lost well before his foot ever hit the ball. To even let the game get tied when you are winning 31-10 with 8 minutes to go in the game is beyond fail.

You're right. I get what you're saying, not acting like it was a Superbowl on the line. I just think it will haunt him because it is New York where everything is magnified so much, and it was to a rival. I know there were 10 other guys, but you can't cut all of them. You can however throw all the blame to the lowly punter, just ask Tom Coughlin.

Heh I wonder how the fans would react if the giants just started going for it every time on 4th down
