Change of pace back - Templar - 12-08-2010 04:17 PM I know that people have been wishing we had an effective change of pace back since Norwood went down. I've been thinking for a couple of weeks that it might be interesting to see what Weems could do in that position. Just curious what others think of that. RE: Change of pace back - mdrake34 - 12-08-2010 04:20 PM I want to Draft Noel Devine to fill that role. I don't think the guy I want will come out until next year's draft unfortunately, and he is a smaller back, but take a look at Jaquiz Rodgers from Oregon state....someone like him would be incredible in a dome atmosphere.....He has heart and you never can count him out.....I love Norwood but I don't think he will ever be healthy enough to contribute on a regular basis. Quiz has a brother who is also on the team (and is a WR) and very talented but he will probably go undrafted....on a side note, both players have excellent hands....If we could get this guy for a later round which is likely since he is smaller, it would be well worth it....by the time he declares we may have found what we need elsewhere unfortunately RE: Change of pace back - USAF HART - 12-08-2010 04:32 PM We could draft Devine, try and trade for Sproles, it will also be interesting to see how the Saints RB situation plays out. I think Ivory has played his way into the depth chart, and Reggie hasn't been what they have wanted. This off-season you could see Reggie or Pierre Thomas let go. From what I've read, Thomas has fallen out of favor with the New Orleans coaching staff. I think he's the likely odd man out. RE: Change of pace back - Radical - 12-08-2010 05:17 PM I could see us grabing a guy around the 2nd to 4th round depending on the caliber of player. We could look at FA as well, since players that fill the position of utility speed back isn't really a high value/hard to find player. RE: Change of pace back - pauliwood - 12-08-2010 05:47 PM id like to draft nesbit (late rounds) and conveert him to HB to fill the roll RE: Change of pace back - Peyton - 12-08-2010 05:51 PM (12-08-2010 05:47 PM)pauliwood Wrote: id like to draft nesbit (late rounds) and conveert him to HB to fill the roll Josh Nesbitt? He's not built for that role in my opinion. I think he'll find a place in the NFL, initially as a special teams player, but I don't think RB is going to be his deal. He's just too big to be the "shifty guy". I'm not kidding. Turner (slow) Norwood (hobbling) Dunn (small guy that couldn't get anything done on the ground with our line) Vick (was a qb with legs) |
