Now he's throwing it more - passing game is opening up the running game and Falcons offense is not so predictable - i think Falcons were too vanilla for a long time which made them easy to defend.

I think you're onto something there. In fact it might have been somewhat fortunate that we played them on a Thursday night. I remember after the game Ryan said that with the short week, they figured they would be more effective not creating a new game plan but rather just go with the no huddle exclusively to start the game since they have been running it for a few years now.

Its a fantastic weapon we have in our arsenal, without a doubt.

Gotta give him some credit since that Philly game. However, what does concern me is the playcalling at the end of close games that we pull out. In some of those games (Ravens and GB in particular) we had the lead late, and before the drive that the foe tied or took the lead, we had a chance to go up two scores to ice the game and all but prevent the necessity to win it in the final minute. It seems as though we either fail to execute well or the playcalling gets really conservative in those instances.

Whatever the case, it is hard to argue with the results lately. If he had coached like this in the beginning of the season, we may have won that Steelers game.

I look at like this:
The Offense keeps showing steady improvement. The pass protection has gotten better and it seems to be mostly due to coaching and schemes.

We are a top offense and there is no denying the numbers there.

I think it really is and has been a methodical process following a solid plan and the whole thing is beginning to gel. Some other coaches could have probably ruined Ryan or stunted his development, but Smitty and MM seem to be maximizing his ability to progress.

He is obviously a hard worker and a quick study but we are all pretty lucky with the group we have running things now.

We are balanced baby! Built for the friggin playoffs. Hard-nosed and ready to play sixty minutes. We can do a shootout or we can go toe to toe in the trenches all night long on Monday. Mularkey definitely deserves his props because he is part of it.

Lets look to the Defense to tighten things up here for the stretch and get ready to play some lights-out football in the playoffs. If we get that we will be shitting in the proverbial high-cotton.

Hehe

Maybe MM is like good beer, whiskey or coffee. He is an acquired taste that takes time(and wins mostly) to develop...err sorry that was a terrible analogy.Confused

I've been giving him props all offseason and was catching sh*t.

Don't know why. We scored how many touchdowns in the preseason again?

We've become sort of a dink-and-dunk offense. That's fine, it eats up clock, which is what we do better than anybody. But Ryan's average yards per completion ranks among the lowest in the NFL. I would just like to see that stat get a little higher than what it is.
