RE: Mark Of A Great Team - Jesus - 10-16-2012 11:36 PM The "problem" is that Ryan has been way too inconsistent the last 4 weeks. The Falcons need to do one of two things to win games. Start fast or finish strong. If we do one of those we win. If we do both we dominate. Chiefs - Started fast finished strong 40-24 Broncos - Started Fast Finished Soft 27-20 Chargers - Started Fast Finished Strong 27-3 Carolina - Started slow Finished Strong 30-27 Washington - Started Slow Finished Strong 24-17 Oakland - Started Slow Finished not soft - 23-20 If Ryan knocks off the turnovers - 6 picks 2 fumbles (who is he Mick Vick?) in last 4 games - the starts are stronger. The blame gets spread around but those turnovers are in his stat sheet. Against Oakland he was like 13-16 at one point with all three incompletes going to the other team. The problems are fixable. We aren't the Browns. Getting the team to disconnect, which is what Smitty was preaching is the first step. Getting key guys healthy is step two. Getting Ryan's head back into the game is three. We all know thanks to the last two home games: Matty Ice can do anything as long as there is time on the clock. I'm not worried that he can't cut out the picks and fumbles. I just can't wait to see him back at the top of his game. Yes the turnovers go on Ryan's stat sheet but like you said there is plenty of blame to go around for the turnovers. I think the OL explains it all. Games 1, 2 and 3 Ryan was protected flawlessly and he played near perfect games. In games 4, 5 and 6 Ryan has been under a ton of pressure and gotten hit a ton and has hasn't played good and played absolutely terrible against the Raiders. Fix the OL and Ryan will get back into playing like he did in games 1, 2 and 3. RE: Mark Of A Great Team - Jesus - 10-16-2012 11:48 PM Turnovers kill we all know that. They seem to be maiming us right now but at any point we might not be able to rise up. Look at what all those turnovers did to the invincible 49ers on sunday. The invincible 49ers have Alex Smith playing QB. Need I say more? We can say "a W is a W" all day long, and indeed it is, but these last three wins have completely ruined my confidence in this team to take on the better teams in the league. Smitty has these guys playing down to competition in a big way, needs to figure out a way to right the ship. I know it sounds crazy when talking about a 6-0 team but unless changes are made we won't be competitive against the better teams in the league. As it stands meow I think we would be lucky to win one of our next 3 games well this could be something here. let's see, San Fran beat the Jets and the Bills in consecutive weeks, at a total score of 79-3. That really helped them against the Giants huh......NOT. maybe they were just tired after running up and down the field so much the two prior games. The Falcons on the other hand, had enough left at the end of ALL of thier last three games to actually keep driving and win. yeah, nevermind, when it comes to playing a good team, blowing out the weak teams before hand, doesnt really mean anything does it. I'd rather have a team with the ability to FIND a way to win, not just when they're playing well, but especially when they are playing crappy. RE: Mark Of A Great Team - ATLBound - 10-17-2012 04:39 PM In regards to the turnovers. Interception against Carolina - Ryan's fault Interception against Redskins - Great defensive play Fumble agains Redskins - Ryan's fault or McClure's (not sure) 1st int against Raiders - Ryan's fault 2nd int against Raiders - I actually put this on Julio. I think he could have gone up and get it. 3rd int against Raiders - O-line fault or maybe tge RB blocking Lets not say this is all on Ryan...its far from the truth RE: Mark Of A Great Team - AUTiger7222 - 10-17-2012 04:40 PM (10-17-2012 04:39 PM)ATLBound Wrote: In regards to the turnovers. Yep. RE: Mark Of A Great Team - Jesus - 10-17-2012 05:52 PM I never said it was all Ryans fault but he does carry the stat. The fact is he is charged with all of turnovers. My point is the turnovers are what kept those games close. Eliminate the turnovers and we are blowing out teams. |
