When we have a +15 point lead, we only end up winning 63.6% of the time? Did I understand that right? RE: Rodgers Vs. Did I understand that right? No - this is about winning margin - not about us having a lead. The margin is the difference in the winning and losing score - regardless of who won. Games where the winner won by 15+ points. It's about being blown out vs. winning tight games. Ryan has started in 11 games where the game was won by more than 15 points by one team or the other - in other words - a Blow Out. In those 11 games - we were blowing out another team 7 times and being blown out by another team in 4 games. Rodgers has started in 13 games where the game was won by more than 15 points - and they were doing the winning in 12 of those. If we let them get a big lead - we are in for a long day. On the other hand - if we keep the score within a couple of touchdowns - I feel really good about the outcome. If the game is close in the 4th quarter - even if we trail - I trust Ryan to bring us a victory. RE: Rodgers Vs. Ryan Splits - RFlagg - 11-24-2010 09:07 AM Now these are some great numbers. I especially like the 23-1 when leading going into the 4th quarter. That's a great argument showing that, once we get to that point, we almost always put our foot on our opponents collective throats. RE: Rodgers Vs. Ryan Splits - TonyGraziani - 11-24-2010 09:23 AM But.... but.... but Rodgers is a god QB and will throw for 500 yards on Shorty Grimes and co. right? Right?? RIGHT!?!?!?? *skeptic's head explodes* RE: Rodgers Vs. Ryan Splits - Peyton - 11-24-2010 10:12 AM Rodgers has earned his reputation as a spectacular QB with the tendency to crack under pressure. If the Falcons are able to follow the formula they have all season and keep this one close into the 3rd quarter, you have to like their chances of winning this game in the same manner they have all of the others. Exactly. People point out that all their losses have been by 7 or less or something like that as if it's a positive. That only makes me question why he can't seal the deal. We have John Smoltz at QB for us- a starter and a closer. RE: Rodgers Vs. Ryan Splits - m2Falcons - 11-24-2010 10:19 AM Great stats. MEANINGFUL stats! Not only a positive reflection on Matt but these also tell us that this TEAM is a winner. I am so happy to have my team going about their business of becoming an elite NFL, Super Bowl winning, perpetually feared TEAM !!! Our Falcons are going to continue the "Falcons Process" for many years to come and become THE measuring stick for NFL success. That said... we still have plenty of things to improve in performance and in personnel; I look forward to seeing the "Triumvirate" at work for years to come on our way to league domination!! |
