Ok I deleted my Fit of Rage Post - karst41 - 10-19-2010 08:05 PM But I am still hoppin fuggin madd as hell about losing to the Eagles! ![]() However, I do appreciate you guys and dolls flaming me up a bit for making those post. Y'all fought fire with fire ![]() Thanks RE: Ok I deleted my Fit of Rage Post - JKH5785 - 10-19-2010 08:15 PM damn, I did make a point in that last post that I wanted to see what some of you thought. We all know Mike Smith has buttered his bread in this league by being a defensive minded coach. Now on one hand, you would think that he's spent majority of his NFL career trying to stop offenses, so you would think he might also be knowledgeable with the ins and outs of running an offense, or rather overseeing an OC. I'm started to think it looks more like that with his defensive background, he has nearly washed his hands with the offensive operation. It looks like Mularkey is given free reign and that there is nothing being done by Mike Smith to delegate what he sees is and is not working. When John Abraham made the statement that the Eagles presented things that they hadn't prepared for, I wondered to myself, is our coaching staff that arogant and stubborn that don't think NFL teams are going to watch our film and try different things against us that they didn't try against other teams. Until we decide that we can change the gameplan a bit from team to team like all great NFL teams do, I think we will continue to struggle, especially on Offense. I just don't see a whole lot of thinking outside of the box, and I don't mean with gimmicks. Yeah, Zimmer made that claim before we refused to interview him, in that he spent so much time game planning offenses he had good ideas about them (according to him). I don't know that it's arrogance in believing that other teams don't watch film, but it could be a stubborn belief in the system, even when it's not working, to keep employing the same game plan and not adjust during a game. I think Smitty was right this week, saying it's on the players AND the coaches, and as long as some changes are being made (which we have no idea) then Smitty knows there is need for change. ---- And don't worry about it Karst, plenty of the board members have been a mess. That's all we can do is hope that the right changes are being made. Yet it's almost to the point where we have heard it all before and still see the same game plan every week. All we can do is hope, and that's what I'll do. I'll be just as excited on Sunday, as I was this past Sunday, and I'll hope for the best. RE: Ok I deleted my Fit of Rage Post - karst41 - 10-19-2010 08:50 PM Thanks for the patience all. The toughest aspect for me to keep a handle on, is that Mike Smith is still very new to the world of being a Head Coach. Same goes for BVG as a DC. "The Process" has been working, but as time marches on modifications and adjustments to The Process have to be made in order to be competitive in the NFL. Defensively, BVG got schooled Sunday, and to a degree I can live with that. But the O Line has real issues with Dahl and now add Baker. Sporkdevil: Sorry to avoid your comments, we will catch up on anti submarine warfare, and internal hostile takeovers, in another topic. RE: Ok I deleted my Fit of Rage Post - RnB - 10-19-2010 09:19 PM It was a bit over the top, but not terrible enough to delete. Dont worry Karst, even the most patient of us still get frustrated with losses.
