Ryan & Shotgun formations - Swift Is a Die Hard - 10-17-2010 06:46 PM

One of our main problems.. Ryan arm gets exposed..Corners are sitting on the routes ..Samuel should have had 2 ints. More and more when we in shot gun formation and its the typical slant route or the out route and corners are bumping our wrs and throwing off the timing ..something needs to be done...Ryan is a sitting duck when we using shot gun ..Im also sick of the 2 TE sets ..

spread the offense out go under the center and pick teams apart go 3 wr set
and use the middle of the field with Harry Douglas.. Harry should not be running slant routes he is not a POSSESSION WR ..send him down the middle of the field

I agree, but you are really beating a dead horse dude. This is nothing we've never heard or seen before.

MM sucks as an OC, we get it. And Ryan doesn't make the best throws or reads...ETC. ETC.

Mularkey Is too fucking stubborn to ever change and adapt. cmon You know this swift lol

Ryan arm was also exposed on that roll out deep pass to Roddy ...that was pathetic

Once again, beating a dead horse.

We make every teams corners look like champions.

I know I'm not the only one that thinks something isn't right when we very rarely ever see a WR truly open with a DB draped on him. Chalk this up to bad play/route designs.

Same posts after a loss. Does this shit ever get old for you guys? Ryan makes plenty of good throws with his arm and especially on timing routes. At the same time we know he can be inconsistent. Ryan would be best suited in a Run N Gun style offense, not the conservative perfect timing offense Mularkey runs. Everyone knows this. I saw Matty play in college since I was a Wolfpack fan and BC was an ACC school. He is better suited when he is just allowed to wing it. This is why the no huddle suits him well. Ryan needs to be let loose, and when he is he will chuck the rock all over, and be warned at times he will make mistakes because as a QB he has a very aggressive nature. From what I have seen from him though he makes more good plays than bad, and that is what most of you want right? A big play, move the rock through the air offense?

I agree with this...

I feel like we might have a Ferrari in Ryan.

We're using him like a damn 1979 Chevette.

I'll stop talking about when the problem is fixed, plain and simple. Until then, I will never accept mediocrity from a team that invest so much of my time and money in.

This is where I blame Mularkey. He was a perfect OC for Ryan in his rookie season, but now that Ryan is in his 3rd year he needs to be more complex. I truly do not think our OC and his playbook is allowing him to do that. He is truly limiting Ryan's skill set and the options he has as a QB.

I'm not saying chuck it down the field every play like some people. The deep ball isn't the problem but like I said I saw Matty in college and he has the ability to get the ball down the field. Let the kid make plays. The no huddle offense 100% proves he has the ability to do that.
