They guy made mistakes just like EVERYONE else. It's time to move on. Mistakes? Everyone else? What he did wasn't a series of mistakes. He admits that. Every thing he did he did because he didn't care about himself, his job, his family or the fans. He knew what he was doing all along. He choose not to review film or practice. He chose to spend his time doing illegal activities. I'm glad he owned up to it but what he did was rather heinous and people have the right to hate him all they want. Frankly I don't know anyone who made mistakes where they lost their job and went to Federal Prison for 2 years, so it's hard to justify saying everyone else. RE: Vick to Mora: ‘There Was Nothing You Could Do, Jim’ - soundking - 10-04-2010 01:14 PM The problem with this story is that we keep getting access to new information. This isn't as much about the dogs as it is how he played us as a community. We can talk that forgiveness and that peace love and harmony crap all we want to. But the facts are it sucks to hear some of this for the first time. MV7 INC sucked a whole lot of money and goodwill out of this community. I can't think of anything that I had to explain more to my kid than 9-11. He was Kobe Bryant and beyond to us b/c we never had that kind of international sports star in our backyard. It's no different than a girl falling for the dude who took her virginity only to find out that all that ' I love you' bullshit was just a way to get laid. She becomes bitter and we did too. I go to the dome to this day and feel the polarization between fans b/c of the race issues that his mere presence brought to this fanbase. Oh and before anybody says anything... I'm black... I know how that statement will go over. Anyway...I forgave him for his mistakes per se. He paid his debt to society for his crimes. He has a right to make a living and be happy and successful. But he has yet to pay his debt to us the fans of the Atlanta Falcons. The sad thing is there's really no way that he can. Actually, when you break the law it's not what someone is "doing in their personal life." It's a crime against the people in the jurisdiction in which the offender lives. That's why the cases are always framed in the language of "The People of the State of _____ vs. Whomever." Just for the record I don't really care about whether or not people want to continue to be fans of Michael Vick. It is their right to do that just as it is mine to not care about the guy. RE: Vick to Mora: ‘There Was Nothing You Could Do, Jim’ - JDaveG - 10-04-2010 08:17 PM It makes me mad to an extent, but the overwhelming thing I take away from it is I'm legitimately proud of the guy. A lot of folks get a 2nd chance and end up crapping out again. It LOOKS like Vick isn't going to be one of those people. I'm a sucker for a lesson learned, I admit. But I'm pulling for the guy. Not because I think he didn't do anything wrong -- what he did was horrible. But because I believe in redemption, forgiveness and being a better man on the other side of your mistakes. Good for Mike Vick. I'm proud of him. (10-04-2010 12:57 PM)RnB Wrote: Wow, some of yall need to move on. You have to be an extremely petty individual to hold a grudge against a former player, someone you dont even KNOW, for this long. Yeah, he fucked up. News Flash: everyone does! On the other hand, this isn't exactly accurate either. Everybody DOESN'T do what Mike Vick did. What he did goes far beyond what "everyone" does. RE: Vick to Mora: ‘There Was Nothing You Could Do, Jim’ - TankWorkman - 10-04-2010 08:50 PM Mistakes...big mistakes were made...he didn't care to do the right things. The Law got his attention. Being put away got his attention. The a-holes that cheered him at the Dome last season defined the very lowest point of all of it in my opinion. It's up to him to do the right thing...he's one lucky bastard. That said, the "he made mistakes just like everyone else" argument is just silly. Just because we all make mistakes doesn't mean they are all equal, or that some aren't worthy of long-term condemnation. The day I blow a $130 million contract or participate in a multi-state dog-fighting and gambling ring, get back to me with that "just like everyone else" jazz. I'm too busy being excited about what we have going on now with the Falcons to even think about Vick. Honestly the only time I do is when the media relentlessly beats me over the head with stories about him or someone starts a thread about him on one of the MBs. RE: Vick to Mora: ‘There Was Nothing You Could Do, Jim’ - zigg zagg - 10-04-2010 10:13 PM excuse me but if im not mistaken, the man who was hurt the most in this situation has forgiven and bestowed vick with his best wishes. why cant some of you take a lesson from arthur blank? if HE can get over it, YOU really need to be able to!! real talk. the departure of reeves was the beginning of the end of the possibilities of a super bowl for the vick led falcons.
