Tough way to go out, but if you told us we'd win the division, have the MVP, and get two playoff wins this year, every single one of us would have taken it and been ecstatic!

Don't focus on what we lost, but focus on what we did. Best Falcons year ever!

Great season. I do not blame the players for the loss, I blame the coaches. Freeman was averaging 6.8 yards per carry, but we went away from the run late in the game. The defense needed a rest, but our last 4 drives took a combined 6:55 off the clock. We ran 16 plays in this span, 12 with the lead, and only 4 of the 12 plays were running plays. We got cute and it cost us. When your defense spends over 40 minutes on the field, it is going to spell bad things for your team.

That was what I thought was the biggest concern going in...don't get cute. We saw it with varying affect in the NFCCG, the wildcat and that direct snap to Gabriel. The MO for this team all year was to build a lead and sustain it for the whole game, even if that meant giving up points in the 4th quarter. They gave up too many points in the fourth quarter. All the team needed was 1 point.

I'm sure Atlanta was jacked these past couple weeks. They earned it. It's been that kind of year in sports. Warriors blow 3-1 lead. Indians blow 3-1 lead.

Very disappointed, of course, mainly hard to take because we had several opportunities to make just 1 play that would've sealed the victory but in the end unfortunately we didn't make any of them, can't do that against quality opponents.

All in all it was a great season, obviously, you just never know if you'll ever get this chance again - just would like to experience the victory once, the city was primed for it - the place I watched the game was electric, just didn't work out in the end.

I'm really not looking forward to hearing all the talk from the dumbasses out there about choke, blowing a big lead etc....

I had a bad feeling with the amount of time the defense was on the field - you can only ask so much. Still thought we had enough of a lead to outlast, one play different....

Greatest Falcon season ever though. Need to kick ass this offseason and erase the taste of this loss. I think the boys come back hungry next year.

JJ, Matt, Free, Mack, Etc. all strike me as the type that don't pout, but put in the fucking work. I think the come out next year on a mission and bury EVERYONE.

Quinn and TD are smart enough to hustle and get the pieces to fix what we need, and I don't see people not wanting to come here, with our future prospects.

Next year, the first in the new Dome, we rewrite history!

We need a vet linebacker that can stay on the field. The speed is great but they need experience.

And we need a good draft to allow more rotation for the D. They were exhausted.

I'm hopeful for next year, the pieces are all there, the mindset is right etc... but I also realize how incredibly difficult it is to get there, really sucks to be so close and not pull it out. One play, one bad call, injury etc... so many ways it can go wrong, not saying that it will or it won't next year but it is just such a tough task that "next year looks bright" while it could be accurate still doesn't sit too well today.

Arghhh all day today in my head - we just run the ball 3 times from the 22 yard line, kick an easy FG then hoist the trophy, or at least make them score, 2 pt conversion and recover an onside kick.

Also wondering how much the pending SF gig was a distraction. Don't know why they couldn't just wait, why in the hell did he have to be doing anything at all, not like SF's season was gonna be made in the last week. Maybe it wasn't that much of a distraction, who knows, but that also doesn't sit too well. The fact that he was doing any of that means he wasn't giving 100% to the game and goddammit this was the biggest game in the history of the franchise and everyone needed to be giving 100%, honestly to me Shanahan let the team down, put his personal interests above the teams - I get it, it's a profession etc... but can't preach all this brotherhood stuff and do that - that's not brotherhood. Now I'm getting angry as I type this so fuck him lol.

It's always a distraction. I hate that they can make an offer while the season is still going on. I remember we did the same to Quinn and the Hawks lost.

Also, it's damn time to make sure in overtime both teams get the ball. I've always said that, so it's not just because of our bad luck. If the game can't be decided in regulation, it's criminal to decide it on only one side of the ball.

I'm actually fine with it the way it is. The Patriots earned the TD, it's not like the old days with the easy FG. If you can drive 75 yards for the win you deserve it.
