Saints - with or without Guido, the Saints are 4-0 and looking like a very good team. Not excited about our rematch based on how each team is playing through the first month.
Bucs - LOL. What a dumpster fire. Schiano will be gone by November.
Panthers - Not sure what to make of them. Shula's conservative play calling is holding them back, and Rivera is the other team's best coach in the 4th quarter.
yeah the saints are another one of those teams that can seem to pick up a 'nobody' player and suddenly he seems like an all pro.
why does our staff NOT want to play a good looking young player/prospect, unless there's an injury? I'm thinking back a few years when Abe was sidelined a few games, we had this high motor, speedy DE who was supposed to be the next best thing (Sidbury) who if memory serves me, wasn't even active that day?
going back to this staffs first year, we started Ryan, Baker and Lofton. So there haven't been any starting quality players come out of college since 08 for us?
Bosher, Willie Mo, Spoon, and Julio are pretty freaking good.
I actually think Konz, Trufant, and Alford will be talked about as elite eventually as well. And I know we didn't draft McClain, but that dude is a baller. He's our best defensive player right now by a ton and one of the best DB's in the league. People don't realize how good he is and what he's actually doing.
Oh, and We should take/get credit for Grimes too, IMO.
But yeah that's about it. A fuck ton of misses and mediocrity other than that. If this were baseball, we'd be batting about 250 at best.
i forgot spoon, and julio and trufant, since there's not usually more than one punter, when you draft one he's pretty much going to be the 'starter' LOL
willie mo didn't start his rookie year before he was hurt did he? Konz only became the starter after reynolds was hurt. Tru, well given that we cleaned house and the only two options were mcclain and franks, that was kind of by default. I do agree with you on mcclain being a baller, though my opinion is he needs to be inside not outside.
so is baker the only OL we've drafted who became the instant starter? I had such high hopes for johnson coming out of the AL national champion

[Editor's note: Josh Freeman has issued a statement through his agents in response to the Monday report regarding his status in Stage One of the league's substance-abuse program. The full text of the statement appears below.]
Let me be very clear. I have NEVER tested positive for any illegal drugs or related substances. Further, I have agreed to take, and have PASSED 46 NFL-regulated drug tests over the last year and a half.
Since the confidentiality of my medical status has been publicly violated, I am choosing to address this matter so that grossly erroneous assumptions about me do not persist. Like millions of Americans, I have ADHD and I have been prescribed and permitted to take medication to treat this condition for the entirety of my NFL career. Well over a year ago, I took a different medication for the same condition (Ritalin rather than Adderall) , and to assure everyone that the error was a one-time mistake, I agreed to be voluntarily tested in the “NFL Program”. Since that time, I have taken and passed all 46 drug tests I’ve been given, which test for every drug and banned substance imaginable. I agreed to allow such testing to be done at my workplace (team facility) because I spend all of my time there and I have nothing whatsoever to hide or be embarrassed about.
Unfortunately, it appears that some people who may have noticed the testing at my workplace have made hurtful and incorrect assumptions and chosen to disseminate inaccurate and very disturbing information. It is a shame that when times have gotten tough, people have chosen to attack the character of others, rather than supporting each other. I remain dedicated and focused to being the best quarterback I can be and to help a team win a championship.
46 NFL regulated tests in a year and a half? just 'at random', no specific reason to want to do that many?? yeah right Joshy. I ain't buyin what you're selling, where'd you get that ritalin you took?
He's gonna have to be a backup wherever he goes. The Vikings have presumably turned things over to Cassel and the Jags refuse to address QB, so he's going to have to be a backup somewhere.
the Jags really should be the ones who take him. that might at least put a few more butts in some seats for them. I said the same thing about tebow though, and it may already be obvious that Kahn doesn't care if people come or not.
Freeman was told not to attend a team meeting today so that his teammates would think he skipped another meeting
At this point it's clear there's no one interested in trading for him, so they want to just smear him as badly as possible so they can cut him and try to recoup some money from him.
