As the Boomslangs have never played in an internet administered league our coaches and Player Development people have a few questions
On the league Yahoo page, under 'Scoring and Settings' the 'Roster Positions' field lists 17 lineup positions and 8 labled 'BN.' I take that to mean we draft a total of 25 and start 17. One of the positions is 'D.' I take that to mean we pick a Team Defense. How is that scored? One position labled 'Q/W/R/T' must be a flex position. If I start a second QB at flex are their scores combined, or is one used in lieu of the other?
There are other questions:
Weekly Waivers: game time - Tuesday. I read that 1 PM Sun to Monday midnight.
Trade reject time: 2
Trade review: Team votes
Post Draft Players: Free agents
Invite sharing tools: Enabled
Can't cut list provider: Yahoo Sports
League Pick'm: Yes
If there is a document on Yahoo that would helpI would greatly appreciate finding it.
Weekly Waivers: game time - Tuesday. I read that 1 PM Sun to Monday midnight. If you try to add a player to your team between 1pm Sunday when the games begin to Tuesday at Midnight (After MNF) they must clear waivers first. When a player plays on a Thursday night, that player must go waivers from the time he plays that thursday night game to Tuesday. So basically, once a player begins their game, they go to waivers.
Trade reject time: 2 After a trade is accepted by both teams there is a window that other managers in the league have to reject the trade. For Yahoo the formula is that at least half the managers have to reject it to stop the trade. In a custom league it will be by vote of the managers or the commissioner has outright authority to veto it. trade reject time is how long that window stays open. The reason for this is to prevent one team dumping all its' top players to another for junk and to prevent unfair trades.
Trade review: Team votesLike above, just another process to prevent uneven/lopsided trades. This is how the trades are reviewed and rejected. It can either be set to administrator review (Which would be by me) or team votes. I set it to team votes to allow everyone a fair chance to determine whether trades are fair, always worked best. Once the trade is vetoed by owners though, I will have the final call to allow the rejection. Basically, if rejected, we will probably have a forum discussion or something of the sorts on it.
Post Draft Players: Free agents All players that aren't drafted go directly to free agents, being able to add to your team. Until the start of the regular season, there is no Waiver period - at least not in my experience.
Invite sharing tools: Enabled Not really something of your concern, just allows me to use a few different invite methods other than just via email.
Can't cut list provider: Yahoo Sports The can't cut list is pretty neat, I like using it anyway. Basically if you draft a top flight player, you aren't going to be able to just drop him. The can't cut list is set based on last year. This is mostly to prevent people from sandbagging their season to earn the #1 pick the following year, and to prevent people from dropping players so friends can pick them up to help one team win the league. Yahoo! Sports' cant cut list consists of most top performers in the league from last season. You won't be able to drop them, you WILL however be able to trade them. Yet another reason why being an effective drafter in the first two rounds of the draft can pay either huge dividends, or destroy a team at the same time
League Pick'm: YesThis is just a fun little side game that Yahoo! has for Fantasy Leagues this year. Basically, it's like weekly NFL pick em. I forget where in the fantasy league buttons it is, but you can find a list of matchups amongst teams in our league, and you pick the winners. Who ever has the best record in terms of predicting all our leagues matchups over the span of the season wins this little game. I believe it's mostly for bragging rights.
