Did anyone notice

Did anyone notice that our defense did not get one pass interference call? That my friends is huge for the Falcons. Dang this is fun to watch! IF we keep this pace, we’ll have Rookie of the Year, and Coach of the Year! Has there ever been a rookie to make the Pro Bowl?

If the Search feature was enabled you could find my prediction vs. the Saints

I nailed it on the head. Just FYI.

I’m not as stupid as many here think.

Thanks Forum

I guess you greet all newbies with wisecracks and snide remarks like you’re better than someone. If this is a private club, maybe you should set up interviews so you can look down your noses at people and evaluate their worthiness. Thanks for nothin’. OUT

Jake Delhomme

7 for 27, 72 YDS, 1 TD, 4 INT - 12.3 QB Rating against the Raiders. LMFAO!!! laugh.gif

If that version of Delhomme shows up at The Dome it will be payback and a 44-11 Falcons win. tongue.gif

Old School

Let me preface my reamrks by saying that I am a Falcons Diehard and have been since the Leeman Bennett days. I’ve stuck with this team through thick and thin and no one is more thrilled about this season and the optimistic future than I am.

However, I witnessed a very distrubing trend developing yesterday in the selfish showboating displays of several Falcons players. Specifically, Norwood’s antics on his fantastic TD reception and Chevis Jackson’s best “Neon Deion” impersonation as he ran down the sidelines on his “Pick 6″ inerception late in the game.

There is no place for such garbage on this team.

We saw plenty of it over the last few years from the like of Meangelo Hall, “NoPlay” Ray Buchanan, and others. Mike Smith is an old school, hard nosed coach who is doing everything he can to get his players to buy into the team concept. Nothing diminishes the concept of team like individuals’ drawing attention to themselves by showboating.

I understand that yesterday was a big win at home against a Division Rival and the players were excited, but I really hope Coach Smith handles this thing internally and nips it in the bud before it gets out of control. Smith has preached that he wants these guys to have fun, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of showing up the oppenent or, more importantly, detracting from the team concept.

I know that I will get blasted for this old school view as most folks now subscribe to the “Just Win Baby!” mantra, but I am a firm believer in doing things the right way and, if you make a big play or score a big TD, in acting like you’ve been there.

I love Norwood and Jackson and am not trying to pick on them, but I just cringed when I saw those poor displays of sportsmanship which, imho, put a blemish on an otherwise perfect day.

Go Falcons.

Turner Needs Fewer Carries- Agree or Disagree?

First , the Atlanta Falcons looked terrific. However, Michael Turner looked a bit worn down at the end of the game when we were running to burn clock. Here is my point . Last week Turner had 31 carries in a blowout over Oakland. This week it was 27 carries. Why not spend him some hits by inserting Snelling (who is a battering ram), and running Norwood maybe 5-6 times more. As the season wears down, so will Turner. He has had almost 60 carries in two weeks and both games were safely tucked away. I would hate for him to get hurt at a meaningless part of the game. Snelling showed that he is a tough runner and I think the New Orleans defense would have had trouble with a fresh, big back. What do you think?

Bird’s the word again in Atlanta

Figures I’d end up at a place called the “Fowl Line” on Sunday to watch a resurgent bunch of dirty birds — a.k.a. the Atlanta Falcons.

I Really Don’t Like Sean Payton

He has been possibly the most cocky coach in the NFL. In our game alone:

- trick onside kick
- goes for it on 4th a couple of times early on, one time well within FG range
- challenges on something completely pointless that he can’t win

He just annoys me and I’m very happy we finally took him down. Granted I wish we left him with 13 points instead of 20 but I’ll take it.
