This is the biggest statement game this year so far in my opinion. I don't need this game to tell me if our team is for real or not. I know that we can run the ball and stop the run. That's enough for me. |

RE: the calm before the storm?
The Eagles have not won a game at home all season.

Still I'm going to be just as hurt if we lose tomorrow regardless, so however it shakes out in the end I think we're both going to be the same unglued tomorrow if the Eagles prevail.... |

RE: the calm before the storm?
the only thing concerns me about this game is, the Eagles havent won at home, with that said i still think we pull out of this one with a huge win, but we nvr know what will happen, any given sunday lets just hope we get our 5th win of the season, wich i believe will be the falcons first 5 gm winstreak under smith

For so many years losing was synonymous with the Falcons, yet I stayed true in support. These winning seasons are definitely a positive, but I still get that knife in the chest pain right after kick off, and when they go 3 and out on the first drive, it's like oh sh*t, here we go again... But, as the game wears on, I can see this particular team gets better and better and overcomes the opposition. By the 3d quarter if it's close I feel pretty good. |

I can identify with every feeling you described in your post. I hesitated to even write about it because I thought that someone would accuse me of being a bad fan or something.

RE: the calm before the storm?
For some reason, the Eagles have just dominated this team. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm expecting a rather humbling beatdown today for this young team. If we do somehow find a way to win this game, I think a lot of the naysayers will become real believers. This team needs this win from a mental standpoint.

We might not win today (I believe we will)...... but there is no way this version of the Falcons is going to get "beatdown" by this version of the Eagles.

I made sure to watch Philly last week to see if they were the Philly of old. Kolb looked pretty damned good, although my bigger concern is our offense. Mularkey is going to have to open up the playbook today. |

I'm not a 'buyer' into the historical results of matchups. Such as us going into Cleveland 2-10 against them all time, and never winning in Cleveland. That stuff doesn't matter to the teams in 2010. I don't expect a beatdown, I don't expect a loss. I think in every aspect of the game, the 2010 Atlanta Falcons are superior to the 2010 Philadelphia Eagles. This team is 2-1 on the road this season, and could have been 3-0. This team is well coached, well disciplined, and extremely talented. I understand where some people are concerned because history has shown that we can't handle success, but I truly believe this team is different. |
