I used to wake up on Monday after a win and get all ready to drink some coffee and read my paper.. Now ist like theres a little bitty article about the Falcons every monday.. its weak as fuk.. no wonder our fan support isnt the best.. Our local paper gives the falcons almost no coverage at all. I bet the NY Post is filled up with shit about the Jets and Ryan, and the Gianst having to wait and go play at detroit and shit today.. we get ONE page ..

They will also use AP articles on the Falcons/Braves/Hawks/Thrashers instead of a local reporter. Easily one of the worst major market newspapers for sports in the U.S. And it's the paper that originally gave us Terrence Moore!

Well for starters who reads newspapers anymore anyway?
Second the NY Post will cover it with many pages if the Jets lose. They love to smear the team.

AJC has regressed so bad that I look at their coverage third - after reading ESPN's coverage(Pat Yaz) and after reading the opposing teams coverage.

I remember growing up the Atlanta Falcons had really good writers - Chris Mortensen, Lenny Pasquerelli, Matt Winklejohn to name a few - regardless of what you guys think of those writers personally - they had talent. Well its gone downhill steadily to the point of "why do we even bother" to have a local paper anymore?

D. Orlando Ledbetter is a "nice guy" but the dude cannot even speak......I'm embarrassed for him whenever he is interviewed by NFL Network and embarrassed for Atlanta. His writing leaves a lot to be desired as well. Schultz/Bradley are decent opinion writers but very predictable.

AJC - you are right - it sucks!

The NY Post will smear the team, but AT LEAST they cover the team...

If I met Jeff Schultz on the street, I'd gut-punch him without hesitation & enjoy the night in jail. He's a coldstone hater, period. When a GA team does well, he will write 9 articles with nit-picking criticisms & 1 glowing one so he can claim he's a homer. And when a team is mediocre, bad, or even just has a rare bad performance, he flat out hates, especially if it's UGA football.

I like to use silly putty to extract the writer's faces from the news print then distort them until the picture matches the IQ (in the sports section sometimes it takes a while and a few dozen eggs of silly putty but in the end it is worth it).
