Not really. The rule applies in the endzone or in the field. If you go down to the ground in the act of catching the pass, you have to maintain possession all the way through.

The part that is difficult to interpret is whether or not a guy has a completion before he begins the process of falling to the ground.

It's a dumb rule, and the Calvin Johnson play isn't even in the top 10 most rediculous examples of it. This one just got a ton of pub because it was the last play of the game and it took away a game winner.

Yeah - I will never forget Roddy's pass being called incomplete - he caught it in the air - turned - took 2 steps - got knocked out of bounds - and lost the ball out of bounds.

That 2 point conversion was no good - and got the call. Just a bad call by the officials.

The Calvin Johnson call was correct - he didn't get robbed.

Tandy how comes you aren't using your other sig... That one was sweeeeeeet. I would love a room like that. Although the future Mrs. UK23, would definitely not let me have my way.
