Would you take Rick Williams?
Usually I steer clear B/R articles but saw one that discussed possible landing spots for Ricky. I know a lot of Dolphin fans and they say between Ronnie and Ricky, Ricky was the guy they would wanted back. He is up in age but he did take a few seasons off and could be a good back-up for Turner.

Quote:Ricky Williams Rumors: Steelers, Ravens, Falcons Among Darkhorses to Sign RB
By Tim Daniels(Correspondent)
August 3, 2011

As teams begin to develop their depth charts during training camp and preseason games, it is probable that the currently quiet market for Ricky Williams will pick up. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens and Atlanta Falons are three playoff teams that could use a backup running back.

Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers interest in Williams will be based upon their confidence in Isaac Redman. Rashard Mendenhall is the clear No. 1 in Pittsburgh and Mewelde Moore is a very good third-down back, leaving just the backup job up for grabs. Williams would fill that role nicely if the Steelers feel Redman cannot.

Baltimore Ravens – With Jalen Parmele and Anthony Allen listed on the depth chart behind starter Ray Rice, it is clear the Ravens could use a proven commodity added to the mix. Rice's production took a dip with an increased workload in 2010. Williams could relieve some of that pressure and let Rice get some extra rest so he can be fresher in the fourth quarter.

Atlanta Falcons – Michael Turner is entrenched in the starting running back role, but Falcons are searching the market for a free agent to back him up. Jacquizz Rodgers is a promising rookie that should fill the void on third downs for Atlanta, but a veteran like Williams would be a nice insurance policy for the overworked Turner.

Why not.

If the price is right, we need to take advantage of that "window" of opportunity.

The weed is what's keeping him so young and fresh out there.

RE: Would you take Rick Williams?
I'm starting to think that Snelling goes elsewhere and we go into the season with Turner, Quizz, Smith, and Johnson. I'd like Snelling to stay, but it may not happen.

Smith is very similar to Quizz and Johnson is a downhill bruiser like Turner. Reports are that both of them are looking really good at TC. I'm sure we'll get to see them in pre-season a whole ton.

They'll be cheaper. Snelling thinks he's a starter and is going to want starter money from someone.

starting to look like snelling may wind up taking a last minute deal from someone just to stay out of the unemployment line

Chew on THAT, Petunia!
