For instance, a corner that gets an interception in a game but allows 9 catches for 120 yards looks better on paper than a corner that allows 1 catch for 3 yards but is only thrown at one time. Looking at those links only determines tackles, interceptions, fumbles, sacks, and defensive TD's. Nnamdi Asomugha's stat line looks virtually nonexistent...until you realize that he gets thrown at an average of 10 times in a season. I've said it since last year, if he was 3 inches taller, he would be in the same boat as Woodson, Asomugha, and Revis. Even still, I love the kid and I hope we "overpay" for him so to speak, as in we pay him enough to make him happy and come in next year being a key defensive player. You made your point I just wanted to give Grimey some props, he ain't THAT far away, and the stats show it. thats all I am saying, AND I think Revis has about screwed himself with his holdout, you lose an edge when you sit and wait @G_Martin |

The only way we let him go is if we get ASO

Now that I think of it, signing Darrell Green out of retirement for 7 years is more likely than ever considering Aso. I'm trying to picture Blank going up to TD & Smitty & asking them to name our biggest need & Blank saying he will spare no expense to fill it with the best player available in that position. I truely believe he is to that point. Especially since that's actually what he did last year as well. But I bet he's even more convicted of that belief this year after the beat down we got. Our worst stats, by far, are in pass coverage. And I don't think it's going to matter that we paid lots for Dunta last year. It's still our greatest need. As much as I love Grimes & as good as he played, he still gave up as many big plays as he made. And truthfully, it's not soooo much that we need to upgrade his position as we need to upgrade the nickel position & then change our coverage style away from the soft zone crap. That's why I don't think Asomugha is out of the question. And I think DE is a close second & that Blank will do the exact same thing there aswell. TD said in his radio interview that we ARE going to fill some holes with FA's this go around. There's really not a lot of ways to read into that as it sounds pretty matter of fact. |

RE: Would you be OK with letting Grimetime go?
I would absolutely love to have Asomugha, even if it's a record breaking deal. I've said time and time again that he is the best NFL player in the game to me, not Brady or Revis. With that said, I flat out cannot see TD putting that much money into a corner a year after we gave overpaid Dunta Robinson with 60 million and 23.5 guaranteed.
