No, not really.

The ball bouncing randomly into your hand from a tip or the QB literally under handing you the ball is a gift.

RE: William Moore
Gift or not, he is in position to make the play. He has that ball-hawking mentality that guys like him and Grimes naturally seem to have. Trust me, some guys have that mentality and some guys don't. Even if Moore isn't the first guy to tip the pass or the first guy to have the ball in his hands, he IS around the ball, and more times than not, he has a chance to pick it off.

It's not JUST by chance or anything like that, that the ball is falling in his hands. He is there to make a play, and he just that nose for the ball that many lack in this league.

William Moore is really that kind of player. He is the kind of player that looks for the ball and I notice that he is always around the ball. Whether it's a tackle, PD, interception, or whatever, he is there. He is a definition of a ball-hawking playmaker....Our former boy Chris Houston?....is NOT a ballhawk...

No, but let's not make him out to be more than he is.

Grimes is above Moore. Grimes covers his man and goes up and gets the ball, usually in ridiculous feats of athleticism. Most of Moore's picks have landed in his hands by simply being around 5-10 yards of where the ball is at. It is great that he actually comes down with it, but what Grimes does is special.

I agree to disagree.

Not about agreeing or disagreeing, it is just the way it is. Always has been in NFL circles when you talk about "gift" interceptions.

Tipped balls = Gifts

RE: William Moore
We could end up with a defense that has that side of the ball full of nothing but household names by the time its all said and done, just like the Patriots developed over time with Bruschi, Harrison, Seau, Brown, etc. We have a good MLB in Lofton, two solid safeties in Moore and Decoud, here comes Grimes now, Robinson, Babs, etc.

Well I will take the gifts, not saying it's on the same level as grimes, but I bet you agree that if you have the opportunity to receive a gift, you will take it.

In terms of the ball-hawking mentality, yes. Grimes and Moore have that mentality IMO. I'm not trying to compare the two, but I think they share that mentality
