Will somebody ask the league how to tackle without your head being in front?

You can't tackle somebody standing straight up. It is all about leverage. You have to get your pads underneath their pads. If you bend over at the waist to do this, you will be leading with your helmet.

You can't tackle somebody with your head thrown all out of the way and just throwing an arm at them. You can try, but you are probably going to not have enough force to bring them down, and you can even hurt your shoulder tackling this way.

Robinson's hit was not helmet to helmet, he did not launch himself off the ground at the player. He was trying to make a play. Maybe the NFL should revise their rules and allow tripping as an alternative way of bringing guy down without using their helmet?

Yeah it is certainly not about that albatross style tackling. I over exposed my neck in a hit playing rugby. I broke the guys ribs, but tore my trapeze muscle, my neck would hang like a dead bird if I took my collar off. It's ridiculous you're taught to lock onto the numbers and put the nuts of your helmet right into the solar plexus or sternum. To force fumbles and to completely drive the guy off his feet I was taught to do this but as the impact took place slide my head towards where the ball was held. I learned this whilst still being encouraged to wrap up. Coaching here is miles off what it is in the States, so really if the NFL want to change people's tackling habits they need to seriously push that through from grass roots up.

Really this is about as form perfect as you can get and the hit is in the area of the body that they will never flag or fine

I wouldn't bet money on that. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see that as a fineable offense as the progression of the pussification continues.

This just 1 more thing to render Defenses even more ineffective. Cant hardly touch QBs any more. Cant have true Shutdown CBs any more. Now they cant tackle too hard any more.

Anybody wonder why the NFL is more of a "Passing League" now? The reason why is because the rules are making it impossible to defend against QBs and WRs now without getting flagged. And Offenses are taking advantage of it.

Exactly!

The 5 yard illegal contact rule is stupid. I think they should only call pass interference if it's blatant, especially considering it's spot of the foul. It's led to the bend but don't break defense where you basically wait for the offense to stop themselves.

But hey, I love defense.

Except the new rules are leading to a bend And break defensive scheme.

I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't!
