Why would Musgrave move to a team without a QB?

Maybe it's as simple as it being an opportunity he felt he needed to take at the time in order to advance his career.

Personally I found it at least at least a little curious since the Vikings are clearly going to bring in someone brand new to their system either via draft or FA.

He must know the risk involved in cashing in his chips on such an unstable situation.

They have talent out the wazoo in Minn, they just need better coaching. He will get to groom a new QB AND implement his own playbook while not having to worry about an existing headcoach who has an established playbook who's also a controlling dick.

He's going into a ridiculously good situation actually.

Touche'

Provided of course he is given enough time and patience it could be a very good thing.

I feel like this is EXACTLY the situation a new coordinator wants and needs. They need to be able to bring in a new quarterback that can learn their system before they learn any others. And it needs to be on a team like the Vikings. A team that has a ton of talent, and Adrian Peterson to run the football. That will help them protect a young quarterback learning in the NFL. All the pieces are there already except at quarterback.

You beat me to it, I agree. This is a great opportunity for him. You get to be in charge of calling plays, bring up a QB YOUR way, and it helps that your head coach is defensive minded and will be more willing to trust you. I can see why he didn't go to Cleveland since Pat Shurmur is a first year offensive minded coach who will want to have more control and really put his stamp on the team, especially the offense.

I just feel like it had more to do with having Adrian Peterson to run the football more than anything. I mean, if the quarterback loses confidence in a game, he can just hand it to Peterson. He doesn't have to worry about bad throws being made because of his quarterback being concerned with his arm or something.

Not to mention, their defense isn't too bad either.
