Why did the fans leave?

My thoughts exactly. To be honest with you Swift. The Falcons where the #1 seed and acted like a team that didn't belong there. The fans didn't give up on the Falcons, the Falcons gave up on the fans. I can't speak for those fans that left, but this was some torture to endure.

I would not have stayed either. In fact, I turned the TV channel after the 3rd Quarter. I wanted no more of that nauseating performance.

I will be sixty years old this year. My health is declining. Last night's game
was typical of our franchise. I left, went back to my hotel and licked my wounds.
I was/am embarrassed once again.

But it was a good run while it lasted. I will cheer our team again next year.

This is the most consistently good team we have ever had and it can get better.
Last night was just like old times and I chose not to go through it any longer.

First of all, I always stay to the end of every game I go to but that's just me, I enjoy the victories, like to savor every moment and I guess I'm a glutton for punishment because I stay to the end of defeats as well. If I was there last night I would've stayed to the bitter end.

However, I have no hard feelings at all about the mass exodus. I can't blame anyone for leaving. The game was what it was. After the way the first half ended I knew that the defining possession of the game was going to be the opening possession of the 3rd quarter. Of course we didn't stop them, we're down 21, and there were no miracles to be handed out.

Saturday night game + playoffs + blowout + the thought of Atlanta traffic = folks leaving early. No surprise to me.

Add to that the Hawks game at 7:00 at Phillips Arena and the boat show closing for the night at 9:00. All three were in the same general area, so traffic was going to be a nightmare.

The fans at the Dome had every right to leave at whatever point they chose. There's no doubt in my mind if I'd been at the game rather than watching it on tv I would've been on I-75 long before the final gun sounded on that debacle.

From another point of view, the mass exodus was deserved. This team embarrassed themselves, their fans and the whole town with their clownish performance yesterday.
