2 2nds. so im not too sure we couldnt have pried those one of those guys away. kevin kolb is about to be had for 2 1sts at the most. a franchise qb.

i agree about rounding out the offense but, in the end, does a great offense need rounding out? no. a good one maybe. but not a great one. a great offense to me is that. great. ours wasnt. it ranked well in yardage and points, but those rankings mask big problems we had specifically with scoring. same with our 13-3 record. we didnt dominate our opponents whatsoever, even the mediocre ones. our offense WASNT great. it was good, but when we really needed points it was bad. a great offense doesnt suffer all the 3 and outs we did last year. maybe this is just "semantics" to you but our offense hasnt been great, i really dont see why you continue to want to argue this point.

I've honestly never heard of a team trading an elite young-esque player away for picks...as you say, you're talking about unproven rookies and established players who have carved a spot at the very top. I'd be absolutely livid if TD let Roddy go to a winner like New England for that. Low first rounders just ain't worth it.

honestly me neither, but who has offered 5 picks for a wr before????

about trading roddy, i would be livid too. i think draft picks are overvalued personally but league wide there is a premium on them. thats why mcnabb only calls for a 2nd, moss gets a 4th etc... that was my point.

you couldnt replace those players with what they were getting in return even if they were getting 1st round picks. what did that 2nd round pick fetch for philly? what did oakland get for moss in return?

kolb is about to go to arizona for NO MORE than 2 1sts which i doubt philly gets that much. thats for a franchise qb.

like i said, a proven player like bmarsh went for 2 2nds. i think we could have made something pop. but thats in the past time to look ahead!

cant wait to see this offense this year. oooooweeee is all i gotta say.

Then let's do talk about it.

The Falcons D-line is a run first defense. They play gaps to prevent a huge hole for a big run. There is no tackle penetration at all unless it happens against the run. The Falcons have no Warren Sapp rushing the QB against the pass. Well,...we do but it's the scheme.

Van Gorder's defensive scheme relies on the linebackers and the safeties to make plays while the interior D-line mucks things up. Abe and Beerman are more likely to be a factor than Perry or Babs in rushing the passer. Even on passing downs the interior D-line is expected to stay in their lanes, their gaps.

I dunno,...sometimes you gotta risk things to get results as in sacks. Van Gorder's defense has the LBs as the pass rushers along with the DEs. His DTs are doing all the dirty work. It's just the scheme.
