I would love Billick it would be just awesome... so much knowledge for offense, our coaches would learn off each other...
Even if he doesn't come in an official role Smith should just bring him to the Flowery Branch in the off-season we all know Matt will be there... So un-likely though... but the chance to help coach up a QB of Matt Ryan's character and willingness to learn could be tempting to any coach.. Terrence Moore(former AJC writer) was always calling for Falcons to hire Steve Young as QB coach of Mike Vick.......
yeah, all of these HOF QBs with their cushy NFL analysts jobs are just dying to uproot their families, travel cross country, make a fraction of what they do as NFL analysts so they can be 6th or 7th banana on an NFL coaching staff working long hours for little pay. Makes sense to me. ??? |

I'm serious. Ryan needs a vet to teach him the ropes. He's learning everything himself and Musgrave was supposed to help with his mechanics. Well...

I think Ralph Friedgen is a realistic and excellent choice. And he happens to be available too. He could probably work with Mularkey to bring some new elements into this offense as well, if Mularkey didn't have an ego about it. Whereas Musgrave was a student of the WCO, Ralph Friedgen has always been a true innovator. It might be a little bit wierd for Ralph though, because at the beginning of the decade he turned down interview requests from both the Bucs and Falcons for the HC position. |
