RE: Which is the biggest problem with our offense?
Do we need a play maker ...yess
but we have solid franchise QB .. a top tier rb , top tier wr , a HOF te ( yet declining ) but still one of better TES in game.... this is perfect example of why offensive philosophy and Mularkey scheme leave a lot to be desired. .The scheme only can do so much . I think we have maxed out the talent / offensive system + scheme. I dont see any spike in any of our players numbers.. Roddy .- hit his mark...Dont think he will match this kind of numbers Ryan- great season I cant picture Ryan having a better year under this system . Ryan threw for 28tds 3700 yards and kept his ints down ..His YPA leaves something to be desired but still a very good season Turner - carries sooner or later will start see wear and tear We missing that speed back / and slot wr that can rack up yac but I dont see these numbers drastically increasing . ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 . - Added by Phocis because of this post. Warned here. Do not remove. |

Because that is something that EVERYBODY who has a problem with our offense agrees with. I haven't heard a soul say our OL is just fine. There has been much more difference of opinion when it comes to the issue of Mularkey vs. our roster, which is the subject of this thread. I was pretty much the only one still saying we would pull it out after halftime. This team was every bit as good as that 13-3 record we earned. I ride or die for this team. But to say we don't have things to address in order to take that next step is, to use your word, irrational. JMHO. Our offense was NOWHERE near as good as it was ranked statistically. If you looked at the numbers and watched the games you would be scratching your head. To people who aren't absolute homers, you had to notice how horribly ineffective and inconsistent our offense was at times. Our record could have just as easily been 8-8. Several of us had concerns about the offense BEFORE the season started. I'm just glad the front office finally pulled their head out of the sand and admitted what many of us have known since the season started. We need better players on offense. This is why I'm one of the few folks who was not a bit surprised at our loss in the playoffs. Not one bit. |

RE: Which is the biggest problem with our offense?
Maybe the problem is more that we aren't "explosive". If Jenks can change it like 180 and be a playmaker that helps the entire offense ten fold. Seriously most of what we all have been reading/writing is that Jenks hasn't been that cog thats kept our offense as big-play as everyone wants. Doesn't help that turner doesn't do much to contribute to the passing game, but again. If jenks can actually be a bigger threat instead of the guy that every once and awhile makes a "big" catch then we could be considered a bigger threat on Offense.
It'd be nice to have a CoP back but thats why this off-season, hopefully, we pick that guy up. I'm sure with some of those minor tweaks we'd be perfectly fine. OL as of now I'm kind of on the fence. They weren't terrible, but they weren't anything we can brag about either. Those are my thoughts. *edit* I guess the word i'm looking for is consistency with the big-play/explosiveness -ROCK CHALK!!! |
