I love many things about the AFMB - I really do. There are a lot of talented, football knowledgeable people who like to discuss the Falcons and the rest of the football world. There are fans of other teams who like to talk a little smack - keep us in line and talk football. There are some creative, talented people who just blow my mind away and make it fun just to be on that board.

Then there are the trolls. Now, I don't call any of the above mentioned people trolls - not even fans of another team. I'm talking about those people who just jump into every thread to throw some wise-cracker remark in about our lame QB or crappy organization.

They don't have any kind of logic they use - they just spew garbage and then sit back and laugh as the frenzy goes on. They are allowed to say the most absurd, aggravating things over and over and over. They find every reason they can to knock our team, our players and our fans. They know the rules of the forum - so they don't get banned - but they take over the whole forum. They don't get warned, they don't get moved - nothing.

That irritates me more than anything. I've seen good fans get banned for trying to beat them off - so to speak - and yet they continue to roam the boards and spread hatred and miscontent. After a loss - you can't even get on the board for them.

I'm not talking about fans who get frustrated and vent after a loss - those guys I'm fine with - it''s the ones with a specific agenda who come in time and time again and spew stupidity with one desired effect in mind and nothing is done about. Ghostdonkey or something like that is one of them - and Mr. Right is another. Then - you put them on ignore - and everyone quotes them anyway (lol) - so you have to see the crap they spew.

I find it ironic that after this board is successfully started AF decides a fix in October is coming?

Didn't they have all off-season to prepare for the very problem they've known about for years...

My main gripe was no live real time chat... why in the world do you need a thread to have 20 poster complain about a play, a call or whatever when a chat room would allow everyone a chance to voice their opinion in real time without having to refresh the pages every 15 seconds!

The other gripe is/was the incivility and testosterone flexing (sorry ladies!) over who knows more about a subject matter or has the better opinion.

The same very conversation you might have in public with someone you just met in person turns into a retard idiot calling fest on a message board...

We're a nation that shows concern for others during times of crisis to complete strangers regardless of race, religion, politics etc... yet hiding behind a monitor we're ready to blast their character because they think one player or coach or play call was better or not?

I've been watching the Falcons since I was kid with my Dad (who passed away in 2000) and will continue to do so with my children and friends till it's my time to go.

I hope this message board unites us as fans because we love the Falcons and we all want what is best for our team and the city... even when we disagree!

I also hated the fact that my reputation of being bi-polar preceded me too much.

It is to the point that no matter what I post - no matter how positive - that someone gives me an automatic -1 without even reading my post. And then someone will make some smart ass comment that I have some kind of agenda. And then the thread I start which was intended to be positive turns into an ugly mud-slinging fest with Me vs. 5 other posters.

I have just had enough of that. And Im done with it there. I'll keep that account active, and may chime in every now and then, but my Primary Board is right here from now on.

- How the board has gone downhill every year

- The rating system

- The Mods. All of them are pieces of shit.

- How you get banned for writing "sh*t", but trolls with 1 post make a topic saying retarded things don't get banned

- Getting banned for no reason and not receiving an explanation

- The board goes down every sunday

- Board freezes every day at 1:15.. or 1:05 AM every single day for years and still has never been fixed

- How everyone gets too caught up in post counts and +/- and assume they are better than you.

There's plenty more. Also, one of you guys shoulda decked Shiney. It's one thing to act like a bitch on the internet but if he was a prick to you in real life don't take that shit. What's he gonna do ban you in the parking lot lmaooo

The elitist attitude of having a "Pure Football" forum for invited members only. The arrogant and two-faced mods. Absolutely no attempt to control trolls. The technical issues like game-day crashes and turning the right half of the page into ad space.

One mod actually threatened to ban me after I sent him a PM complementing him on how he handled a particular situation. "I have a good mind to ban your ass right now," he said. All I can figure is he had been drinking and misunderstood what I had written to him.

You just PM any mod and they'll let you into Pure Football, no questions asked. I've been banned twice, joined back, and the same mod who banned me allowed me in with less than 50 posts to my name. No one posts there anyways though.

Who was the mod in your ban story though. Sounds to me like from what I've been hearing, it was probably Shiney?
