RE: What's The Hold Up?
I don't want a Turner. I want a Jamal Charles.

This may seem unrealistic to many, but I think it's a definite possibility to be honest.

If Miami doesn't take Ingram at 15, then N.O. will absolutely 100% take him at 24. This is where I think there's a chance we talk to N.E. about their 17th pick & could very well take Ingram there. The problem is we'd have to give up our 2nd round pick this year or next for them to be willing to drop down from 17 to 27. And with what we NEED, I just don't know if we'll be willing to do that. We move up to 17 to get Ingram & our next pick might not be until #91 near the end of round 3, which would suck considering the talent that might be available in round 2, like a WR or TE.

As for finding that durable speed-back, they don't get any more durable than Jacquizz Rodgers... over 900 carries in college, not one single injury, never missed a game or a play. And, he can likely be had in the 3rd or maybe even 4th round, giving us that complement to Turner that we very much need.

And I think Snelling is a key piece to our offense. If Turner goes down, I'd rather have him than desperately searching the waiver wire or depending on a rookie or CoP back to take over the "between the tackles" running game. I really don't see us getting rid of both Norwood AND Snelling. And we all know Norwood's days as a Falcon are done done done.

RE: What's The Hold Up?
We will not draft a running back in the first round of the NFL draft. And that is that. It's simply not going to happen.

RE: What's The Hold Up?
bush is available isn't he? hes not an every down back but could be useful.
not to mention that it would in effect make a ton of saints fans own jerseys of a falcon player, that would be hella funny

Let's all say it together:

"The Falcons have too many needs to be trading up and giving up draft picks."

He would be no better than what we have in Jerious Norwood. He's just as fragile, and probably a clone of Norwood a couple years younger.

Now, you can dog on me all you want, but it's the truth. Warrick Dunn was a speed guy, but he was too small to be effective with the offense we had.
Norwood is unreliable.

I'd love to see someone touch the ball and have the ability to get 10 yards doing a sweep. Our offense is capable of this, except we lack the speed.

So, I'd like to see a FAST guy back there that can CATCH the ball. Someone we can keep on the field for 2 downs. Snelling has been our goto guy on 3rd and he did some great things, however, he is a Turner-esque figure with bowling ball power and can actually catch the ball.

Eventually someone will replace Turner, but Snelling is a great guy to keep on the roster to be that guy for a year or two.

Vick & dog on you in the next sentence? Hmmm, very interesting. j/k Big Grin

I think we go defense (de, lb) in the first round or maybe a wr,,, maybe
