I agree with what you are saying. There is no reason that the Saints can't buck all those trends.

There also is no reason to think they will.

Which is why I don't understand why so many in the media are hyping them so much.

Yup. It will shake out for sure. But, even though I fall into it myself at times, trends are only trends until something different occurs. There are so many other variables that come into play that simple trends can be terribly misleading.

Heck, Atlanta should not have had three winning seasons in a row, right?
