If the Packers bet the Eagles, then yes, the Saints will get the extra day off before traveling to Chicago. If the Eagles win, however, the Saints would play in Atlanta on Saturday, January 15th. And speaking of trends that would have to be bucked, hear's another: The Saints have never won a road playoff game. |

The whole Tampa thing was no more than coincidence. You can look at the 2000 mile air trip away from home and see why they don't play well the following week.

Yet if they were 1000 miles away it would make a difference? You are talking about a couple of hours max. This too is coincidence. The fact is that teams from 2000 miles plus rarely play west coast games at Seattle. Quite often the league schedules bye weeks following road games. This would reduce the number of chances even more. It's like the "Saints never won road playoff" deal. When you have only played three road playoff games that is very possible. One in 1990, another in 200 and 2006 at Chicago for the NFC title. Saints Fan Since 1967

It came out of the Seattle public relations office. Believe it or not a three hour charter flight doesn't mean anything. Yup, pretty grueling there. Saints Fan Since 1967

RE: What Two Things Do These Teams Have In Common?
I could care less what the Saints do this weekend. But honestly. . Sure, I would love to poke fun if they lose to the Seahawks. But I really want them to win. (Which will probably happen anyway.) I WANT our Falcons to have to play the Saints again. Why you ask? Because I would rather see the Falcons get to the Superbowl taking the tough route, rather than taking the easy one.
If the Seahawks somehow pull off a miracle, then our Falcons end up playing them and beat them, there will be doubts, always. "Oh well, they never had to play the Saints!" or "Oh, they only played the Seahawks and _____ to get there." If we play the Saints, and beat them, then win the NFC game, well, there won't be any doubts allowed.
