People have been claiming Jesus is coming back pretty much every day since he first ascended into heaven. It only got more widespread when the concept of the rapture was invented, and more and more people have claimed to know the date, only to watch in shame as the predicted dates would come and go with no event.

I wonder why this date has gotten so much attention? My point being, this is far from the first time someone has predicted the end of the world.
