Weatherspoon and Robinson - Uncertainties For Falcons
Dunta Robinson, Sean Weatherspoon Remain Great Uncertainties for Falcons *
o Ray Glier
o NFL Writer

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon is not permitted to speak to reporters, as per club rules, if he is injured and not practicing. But before he left the locker room Monday afternoon, Weatherspoon did tell a reporter he was not practicing today.

Apparently, his knee still hurts and his status is uncertain for Sunday's NFC South showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Georgia Dome.

It is not clear whether cornerback Dunta Robinson will play Sunday. He was not in the Falcons locker room when it was open to media on Monday.

Extra Points:

William Moore, the strong safety from Missouri, played against the Tampa quarterback Josh Freeman in college. Freeman went to a Big 12 rival, Kansas State, and Moore called him "a friend."

Freeman, a second-year pro like Moore, has led six fourth quarter comeback wins in just 16 starts for the Bucs.

"He uses his size to his advantage," Moore said of the 6-6 Freeman. "You aint going to run back there and grab him by his jersey and pull him down like the average quarterback. You definitely got to run through him."

Moore sacked Freeman in college and also intercepted a pass. "It wasn't easy," Moore said of the sack.

"His improvement was fast coming out of college and then last year," Moore said. "It looks like he has been in the league five or six years the way he is playing right now."

Moore also played college football against Tampa receiver Arrelious Benn, who went to Illinois.

"He's a big guy, too," Moore said. "I remember this slant route he ran and caught a pass and I came up on him and he was tough. You've got to run through him, too."

Blehhh....I don't like anything about that story.

It's really hard loving this team as much as I do (and most of you too I'm sure) and then getting virtually no injury-update information.

I don't have a clue if Spoon is going to play this week or again this season. I guess they would have put him on IR if it was season-ending....Undecided

I agree, the pats biggest tool was mis-information. And if you don't think TD or Mike Smith doesn't know that. If they say anything its not they don't feel good, mid-late week their playing. Tongue

Bah to this. Both better play.

Anyone see that pass Freeman threw yesterday to Benn? Dude's got a canon. We will need Dunta for sure.

We need to send the pass rush and flatten Freeman.

I definitely hope both are out there. We need them. But if D-Rob can't go, do we trust Owens to start again? Great big :/ on that....

Robinson hasnt been cleared. He is doubtful. Weatherspoon's MCL appears to be a little more serious than first reported.
I dont expect either of them to play this Sunday.

I would rather see B. Williams start. He was lights out last year before the injury. He seems pretty healthy now. I'd like to see what he could do.

Unfortunately, I expect this coaching staff to start Owens.

I second that put Brian Williams in how much worse could he be than Owens.
