We will not run a 34 defense

Please don't get excited about a 3-4 defense while Smitty is the head coach.

1.Mike Smith is a 4-3 guy
2.TD has drafted 4-3 guys and has money tied up in these guys.
3.We don't have the linebackers
4.We have like 6-7 DT's (Walker, Lewis, Jerry,Peters, Babs,J Anderson)
5.Transition typically takes at least 2 years for players to learn entire scheme, not including getting the right type of players.

I personally would love to see a 3-4 defense but have realized we are not going to change anytime soon. We run alot of Cover 2 Zone (shell) , its basic (no smoke and mirrors) it forces the offense to make correct reads and have multiple play drives. The key to the Cover 2 Zone is getting pressure with the front 4, look for TD to get a dominant DE in FA or draft.

Bears run a ton of Cover 2 Zone, so for those who can stomach watching NFC championship you can see how Rodgers fairs against similar defense.
