I was awakened at 5 AM by the phone and told to get from Birmingham to Columbus as quickly as possible. After being at the doctor all day yesterday and finally getting a diagnosis, dad was in the kitchen last night and collapsed. He was rushed to the hospital and his blood pressure and heart rate kept dropping. He had a seizure about 4:30 in the morning and was rushed into emergency surgery to put a temporary pacemaker in to control his heart, but he passed away on the operating table. We're devastated. He loved the Falcons and Auburn football. I miss him.

Just wanted to let you guys know. Even more so than my post last night, things like this put a silly football game into serious perspective.
