With $1,000 to bet on a team, I'm going one of three ways, New England, Indianapolis, or New Orleans. All 3 have ELITE QB's. The 3 best QB's in the NFL in my opinion. You don't have to have an elite QB to win the Super Bowl, it helps, but not necessarily. In 2008 before they brought Favre in, TJ was looking much improved. If you're expecting him to throw for 4,000 yards and 40 TD's then, no he's not your guy. If you want 3,500 yards, 25 TD's along with a top 5 defense and a 1,500 yard back, well he can get likely get that done.

I highly doubt it. The guy stinks.

I don't agree. I think the guy is a good young player. I just think the Vikings see a window of opportunity now and don't want to count on a young guy during the window.

I disagree with this. Tavaris (Tavares?) has shown to have little acumen at reading defenses. He is not a very good QB. Serviceable? Sure, but he isn't winning playoff games for you.

Gosh you know, it's just hard to determine that based on what he's had a chance to do.

At the end of 2008, he went 3-1, putting up fantastic numbers and ripping the eventual NFC Champions to shreds in their own house just six weeks before they were playing in the Super Bowl.

In the one loss, against Atlanta, I thought the guy played tremendous, but Adrian Peterson helped the Falcons tremendously in that game by fumbling like a half zillion times.

Tavaris Jackson only has 19 starts in the league, and he's 10-9. In the limited time he has had since the second half of 2008, the guy has completed nearly 70% of his passes, thrown 10 TDs against 2 INTs, and averaged about 9 yards per attempt.

I mean, I am interested to see what the guy can do when he gets a chance to be the guy again. I think he was just coming into his own when the Vikes went out and got Favre.
