RE: Vick article...your thoughts
If read that he did a radio interview and said he said he would change nothing about his life over the years and then paused. He then said except for the whole dog fighting thing, because it hurt his career. I'd like to hear that first.
If that is true, I hope he gets slowly pulled apart in a fire while his nuts are getting crushed by a molten I-beam. If not, then here's my take, assuming the above isn't true. Vick himself, I don't like or dislike. I don't wish bad on him, but I don't really care for him to succeed in sports either. He came to the Falcons and we through the entire organization to his feet Players, coaches, and everything was to utilize this guy. Some of it was successful, some wasn't, and I don't think he was the only problem in Atlanta. While there was mixed success in building this team around him, which the "huggers" constantly point out, here's the problem. Vick didn't try hard here, he didn't give full effort, he was busy somewhere else. This was after we gave him the biggest contract in NFL history. This organization made him the central figure of this team, he was the Falcons, and he didn't care enough to give full effort. So even though our OC sucked, our WRs were crap, our OL was crab, and our running backs were questionable most of the time... he is still just at fault as anyone. You can't blame others if you aren't pulling your own weight. As for the dogs. What he did was inhumane and disgusting. Though I don't view him as a sociopath because he was raised around it from a young child, where dogs were more or less just objects. You're raised around sick things, you don't see them as sick, they're the norm. It does disturb me though that he never once stopped and thought something was wrong with electrocuting, hanging, beating, drowning, and ripping the teeth out of an animal. I don't think he saw it as fun from what I've seen, but it still strikes me as questionable. Scary stuff. He knew what he was doing was wrong though, that's the problem. He lied about it to everyone. He lied to the fans, his family, his coaches, his teammates, the law, and the man who was paying him all that money. This leads me to believe that ultimately, he's only sorry he got caught. So I don't have any sympathy for him at all. He'd still be doing it now if he hadn't been caught. I don't want to see him wearing a NFL uniform, I don't want him to succeed in the NFL. Redemption shouldn't mean getting everything back and then some and act as if nothing ever happened. Now, the people I REALLY HATE are the Ooksters/Ookites. The people who excused him from Day 1, the people who blamed everyone else but him for any problem he had, the people who said they didn't care because it was "just dogs", that the government is running a conspiracy agaisnt him, act like the Falcons did HIM wrong, and hold this twisted double standard between Matt Ryan and Vick. It is moronic to hate on Matt Ryan and the Falcons because Vick fucked up. People who call themselves Falcon fans, go to the games wearing Vick jerseys, and cheer the man on playing against us are degenerate peices of human garbage. People who excuse his actions and treat it likes he's entitled to play in the NFL, like nothing he did was a big deal should die in a fire. The people who worship that man are who I despise. That's just me though.

I just wish one Atlanta Falcon board could not bring up Vick.

RE: Vick article...your thoughts
I think the real test is coming for Vick right now. With the vast majority of people in sports media pumping him up again....him playing lights out ball, magazine covers, etc..etc....How will Vick react?
If he falls back on the habits he had in Atlanta (showing up late, leaving early, not studying film) he will truly in my eyes be the stupidest person on the planet. Let's see how he handles the positive spotlight this time around. I hope for his family's sake he does better this time.

The wheels and gears of the Vick Media Machine are starting to turn once again. Get ready for the Vick Experience Part II.
As much as many of us dread it - It is coming. |

... at least until he gets his contract. Then, money in hand again, we will see his true colors and if he has changed.
We should want him to get paid though, right, since we're a big creditor of his bankruptcy, right? Formerly SBC Falcon
