Us vs. 3-4
21.5 ppg
358.5 ypg 1.25 to/g What are all these stats? The Atlanta Falcons vs. 3-4 teams this season. Excuse the Arizona game and you have 15 ppg 326.6 ypg 1.33 to/g Great? No. Good enough to win 2 out of those 3 games and lose the other one in overtime? Yes. Now, considering that Baltimore runs a hybrid, let's take out the only true 34 we played in Pittsburgh. 25.6 ppg 379.6 ypg 1.33 to/pg So everyone who is acting like the sky is falling because we are facing a 34, please, with all due respect, stfu. Its not preferable, but our struggles against the 34 have been greatly exaggerated IMO. We are 3-0-1 (NHL style) this season against them, and the (95% likely to be correct) numbers don't lie. |

RE: Us vs. 3-4
Haha, good stuff. But it is just a handful of games which = not very statistically relevant or meaningful just yet.

RE: Us vs. 3-4
Great thread. I've never bought into the "we struggle against 3-4" argument. I think we have just had sub-par games against elite defense in the past(most of which have been 3-4).

Well if its not a big enough sample for the positive, how is it big enough for the negative? Because we act like us playing the 3-4 = automatic L for our offense. It doesn't matter what the alignment is, because as these stats show, we had our best game of the season against a 3-4 hybrid. Just so happens they suck. You could say the same thing about our D against WCOs. Philly demolished us, but San Fran got stopped. So you can't make a generalization and say "we struggle against scheme X". Because we act like us playing the 3-4 = automatic L for our offense. It's not a big enough sample for EITHER. Just because we act like we suck against the 3-4 this year doesn't make the small sample size this year any more statistically significant. However, the essence of what you say is quite true: So far, the limited stats this year show that we aren't as inept against 3-4 defenses as some perceive. Ah, semantics...No harm bro. |

RE: Us vs. 3-4
Maybe this thread was too positive and went against too many preconceived notions to get more replies, but I'm giving it another bump before the game tomorrow.
