When you don't have to worry about the defended the whole field and stack your line.....the result is very often a stuffed run. Good Offenses are also not stubborn.....How many times has Mularkey pulled this crap. Can't remember which game he sent turner up the middle three times only to get zip. Run WIDE or PASS for god's sake and ours |

RE: Turner Needs to go
I don't think Turner needs to go but the Falcons need another running back and no I'm not talking about a broken Norwood. The Falcons are very one dimensional at the running back position and it showed last night. The Falcons shut down Bush and Colston but they had players like Lance Moore, Jimmy Graham and Pierre Thomas who stepped up when it counted.
The Saints shut down Turner, Roddy (yeah he got the TD but it wasn't enough) and Gonzo and it really hurt our offense. Jenkins made a few plays but in the end it didn't matter. We're getting nothing from Douglas in the slot and that's hurting us too. Offense needs to be the focus point in the draft, the Falcons need playmakers. |

When's the last time Turner fumbled on a goal line carry? |

RE: Turner Needs to go
This thread and others like it are the major reason why I hated seeing the loss last night. I knew ahead of time if we lost that this would happen, not only on this board but across the nation. Bunch of fair weather fans and bandwagon jumpers.
Both teams played an excellent game last night, one of the best games I've seen in a while. Their defense shut down our offense and our defense shutdown their offense. End of story. Did we make some mistakes? Sure, but so did they. We lost by only 3 points and held the Saints, one of the highest scoring teams in the NFL, to 17 points. We had some bad calls by the refs, some poor choices in play calling, and some missed opportunities. But to start saying that this player or that player needs to go is just stupid. This team gels together. They've gone 13 - 3 together. They will get HFA throughout the playoffs together, and they WILL win the SB together. |

Still even after this year how much does Turner have left? |

Don't forget that Robert Meachem had 10 catches for 101 yards. I made this very point in another thread. After White, Gonzo and Turner the Falcons simply do not have a go to target. The Falcons need one of these guys to step up, and definitely need to invest in some better alternatives in the offseason. |
